Hi,
After some help to make this chord progression more interesting if anyone can help. Was original composed Dmajor but as it starts on Gmajor not sure where should be Glydian or whether it's just ok to start on the IV?
Anyway it's
Gmaj Emin Dmaj Gmaj Dmaj Gmaj Fmin7 Bmin (Bmin7 seems to work on the end too.
I'm happy with the beginning its the middle religion that i am frustrated with? Sounds like starts nice first 3 chords and I like the last 2 (but not set on them) so any advice from Dmaj onwards gratefully received as it feels too plodding in the middle to me. Still learning on chords and working hard but stuck on this one?
Thanks guys.
Ps if anyone has any advice on different bass notes that work also be great to learn (Ie rather than just using root)
Help with this chord progression please

I played with your chord progression. I'd say you are in the key of G major. If you really want to go to Fm7, then the next chord after that probably should be Bb7, not Bm. That would take you to Eb. If you just want to stay in the key of G major, then swap the Fm7 out for either C or Am.
You can play whatever bass note you want, as long as it's in G major it will sound good. If you start playing notes outside of G major, you'll probably start wanting to go to other keys.
This isn't the case 100% of the time. In G major, I'd move between G6 and F#dim7 anywhere I wanted to and it would be fine. This is more of a jazz sound and may not be what you are going for.
It is possible that I may have misinterpreted your chord changes. I played major triads and maybe you are playing major 7th chords? If that's the case, please let me know.

Drugs and alcohol have never helped me creatively, but for others it seems to be an essential part of the process.

Hi thanks will try your ideas out.
I was playing triads (apart from Bm7) with some of them inverted.
Will have a play and come back - thanks for posting
