Presumably because adding the ADC etc that that would require would double the cost.
True, but so what? The iRig HD, Pro, Apogee JAM, Sonicport, etc all are Lightning.
We will see what the demand is for this type of iteration of the interface and go from there :)

Will there be an HD or Pro version of this?

Please see the post above yours. There is no specific news on such a release and any decision in that respect would depend on market demand.

I am pretty disappointed with IK Multimedia for this one. irig Acoustic will plug into an Android phone but that's where the compatibility stops. I recommended this to a friend of mine. He got really excited to enter the electronic age, only to find out that it really does not work with Android. IK Multimedia, please take the Android compatibility out of your product description for this device.it is very misleading.

Yep, agreed. And while you are at it. Stop sending blanket emails stating an app is on sale when it is only for the Apple products. Android users have feelings you know.

The demos sound really good. :) Personally, I shy away from hooking anything into my tenor ukulele's sound hole, since I'm too afraid of damaging it accidentally (it's a $1300 instrument), but for sturdy guitars this looks like a nice option, judging by the samples.
