did you even pay for it? if not you need to say that up front. If a beta tester and you get it for free or heavily discounted, you can say you would have paid full price all you want, but we will never know.. just let me know.. oh and as far as the name calling, sorry, never intended, never will be. I think you meant the pompous thing? We are never going to agree on the aud GBP thing, we get along otherwise, so let's just agree to disagree on that ok?

I am refreshing dmg every minute to try this thing, believe me i want to hear it :)

BTW re IK, if i love limitless and dave wants to give me an nfr for life without any backouts deal for half price, i will surely take it ;)
Yes buddy, very happy to agree to disagree. Both our countries are ripping us off daily, nuff said! ;)

I don't have a license yet, just the beta version. Dave is often super generous with the beta testers but I don't necessarily expect to get one gratis. One EP mastering will pay for it and see me right for limiting for a long time to come.

I bought in to DMG from the outset, was an early customer and met Dave just as he was releasing Compassion. I happily admit that I'm a DMG fan boy. They are my most used plugins along with Valhalla and u-he and he's added many features I wanted which is great when you use a tool 50 - 70 hours a week.

As with my u-he plugins, the lack of sales actually raise my perceived value of the tools. Not everyone thinks that way of course. I too bought a load of IK products years back in a group buy. Never use them and even the transferrable plugins have next to no value in the MP.

I think DMG are right up there with the best (UAD, Softube, Brainworx, Fabfilter etc.), and in some cases better imo. They are priced competitively with those companies' products.

I don't think buying Tony's entire back catalog if you don't intend to use them is particularly flattering to his work but hey, if you want to do that, that's your prerogative :)

Looks like it's out! I hope you love it as much as I do :)

Cheers

I once thought I had mono for an entire year. It turned out I was just really bored...

This beast can do the broadcast measuring (EBU R128) like the Nugen
VisLM but at a far less expansive price and with the TP limiting off course. I was searching for an alternative to the VisLM-H (too expansive for me), I think I just found one...
Tonight I'll give it a try on an electronic/ambient song I'm finishing
to see if I'm definitely buying it...

Dave, I have big troubles here on Mac OSX 10.6.8 and Pro Tools 8 LE.
The GUI seems to freeze and the toggle switch anren't usable after a couple
of seconds.
I also wanted to know if it was possible to to display LU metering instead of
LUFS ?

Oh and...thanks for this tool DMG ! :)

Wooh PT8! Glad I'm still doing the RTAS version - can you drop me a mail and I'll investigate?

As in you want to select a loudness target and see integrated relative to it?
You can click the LUFS (gated) to display LKFS (ungated).

It sure is CPU hungry.
New users PM me for a 10% FabFilter or 20% MeldaProduction/United Plugins discount

TheoM wrote:that's a good difference thanks. That means i can test it every day for 30 days and maybe even have some money saved by then, and test it on HEAPS of different mixes (as well as individual instruments).

Sorry i wrote the last post before seeing this post....yes it's not cheap but $50 saving is $50 saving and at least your demo is generous :)
it's even more generous if you take into account that he was so kind to release it in january, not february. that gives you at least 2 days more to extensively test it and end up buying it anyway after 2 days

It's just not a legit DMG Audio release unless the first hour involves me fixing the RTAS build. Which I have just done. If you redownload (I'm not bumping the version number; it's literally been 1hr), the RTAS build is fixed :)

Yeah PT8...this is what it looks like to work for a very poor tv channel... :?
I'll send you a mail about this bug. Thank Gof I have my PT11 at home. :)

I was asking about a way to display the measurement in LU instead of LUFS or LKFS (like in Nugen VisLM-H). For example in a calibrated plug -23 LUFS = 0 LU (I think you already know that). It's not really important, just a displaying habit that I have, if it's not possible I don't care. After all, Limitless is not a broadcast tool...

glad I'm not on mac or need rtas, or I would have downloaded non-legit stuff from your website again, and all that within less than 24h ;)

This limiter has raised the bar... amazing plugin!
It doesn't change the spectral balance (as Ozone with this new mode) so mastering engineers will love it.

A question: there is no global oversampling (only for clipping)? Typically I use oversampling more to prevent intersample peaks but it seems this is handled internally with the ISP option? So oversampling is not really needed?

I have one feature request :D Host synchronisation option, so if the host is paused/stopped the integrated measurement is reset automatically.

Great work Dave and Krz!

Everything works as expected now, thanks Dave !

JFI guys... clipper @x64 is mighty CPU hog (that is to be expected, I guess).

On my very old computer (9550) anything above x16 is a no-go.

And if I thought about buying a OCed 6700k, now I seriously think about 5820 :)

Great work Dave and Krz!
+1 for this one...I also thought about it and a request concerning short-term measures but didn't want to turn the thread into an "EBU R128 for Limitless" discussion. I must admit that I wasn't expecting that this product could fill some of my broadcast needings.
I can't wait to try it on my tunes...
