Installation of the full version (v0.9.8) for iLok went fine on Mavericks 10.9.5

Maybe these are known issues, I'm late to the game ;)

- Logic 10.2.0 keeps crashing when I insert StiX during playback. No crashes when I insert StiX on standby and then hit play. Where can I send the error log file?
- Loading (any) results in heavy clicks and no sound at all from Logic. Unloading StiX plays back at least all other tracks again. Creatin a pattern myself seems to run fine (haven't yet played it longer than a couple minutes)

I don't have more time now to fiddle with it more... But it's definitely a great sounding plugin and I have the feeling it can give instant happiness and groove :D

Glad to help! :)
I don't remember changing the GUI size at all, so it will be whatever the default size is.
Thank you. Fixed in next beta version :)
Should be fixed in the V 0.98.

Thanks for the report. And your kind words.
You can send the error log file by using the form found in this page : https://www.xils-lab.com/pages/Contact-Us.html

Sending error logs and crash reports help us A LOT and usually make bug fixes much faster. Thanks in advance for filling the form. LtZ

MikeCallon wrote:Only a small issue I know (but one that I reported previously) .... the 0.9.8 iLok installer is still asking me for the location of my Syn-X folder :clown:

After de-selecting everything but the 64Bit VST plugin on the previous screen, why is it still asking for the location of the 32Bit plugin anyway ? Surely there's a way to skip this screen if you un-check the 32Bit plugin on the previous screen ?

But, and it's a big but ..... apart from the installer gripe, this is sounding and looking better and better :D Keep it up - nice job guys :tu:
Hi Mike, Be carefull : the folder location requested on this page, like mcbpete said :tu:, is the one where all StiX data files ( presets, midimap, etc ) will be installed. If you have chosen to install also the 32 bits plug in version, you would have been asked to choose another folder for the 32b plug (on the same page, the nextg page of the installer is for the 64b versions location ).

But maybe the text displayed could be changed to reflect this more accurately, I agree.

Better and better : Thanks. And it's not finished ! :)

The live tempo sync is definitely improving with each release - Increasing the BPM on the DAW by hand now seems to work perfectly, decreasing the tempo manually is the only thing StiX struggles with now (it seems to stop outputting sound for a second or two as presumably it gets back in sync as per v0.97). Looking good team :)

Thanks a lot . Yeah, it's really a huge challenge :phew: . Glad to see it now cover more cases ok.

(Maybe it's worth to mention that Static Sync (ie not using tempo maps or altering tempo manually in the daw) is rock solid from the beginning, for those who could read this -too- quickly)

StiX Glasgow

Kick is VA and one oscillator only  HH are virtual analog also ( closed and open are made with the same sound) . No compressor, no nothing. Keys are FM8, and the bass courtesy of PolyKB II. I've also saved the drumkit and it will be included in the V 1.0.
Another demo using song mode. Keys are Xils 3, and the bass the POlyKB II -again-.

StiX Ibiza
It would be nice if StiX could do what these heavy & expensive cinematic sound libraries with gazillions multi samples offer. Well, it can't . But it was fun to try :) Here's a possible result, ussing a mix of all synthesis methods.

Drums of War 2

The preset and the drumkit will be added in StiX v1.0.

Yup, looks like that FXGUI bug has gone :) good work!

I found another though - in the Save window

no biggie I'm sure ;)

And I've been having fun tonight, if I can forget about the times it has crashed Live. The only similar thing about all three times was that I was fiddling with knobs in the filter zone. Drive or Frequency, not sure that helps much though!

hi all, just tried some automation with the (sadly only) MIDI CC implementation. StiX respond globally (all drum pads) on channel 1 only.
I'm on latest Reaper.

Did you try the last beta Lalo (v0.98 ), cos this is the behaviour of v0.97

Note : You have to channelize the automation Data :

Channel 2 : Bass Drum
Channel 3 : Snare
etc
Channel 11 : Misc

Channel 0/1 : Global parmareters + synthesis parameters of the selected drumpad

Hmm that's how it should work at least. Going to test again in Cubase later today.

What do you guys think about a replacement, or alternative, skin that would look like this (it's a draft) ?

Image

It's a lot of additional work, but ...

So ... Black skin is better, metal one ? Both ? Please comment.

That brushed metal finish looks really cool - I love it 8)

But if would be nice to have the choice of one or the other - I'm sure you'll get several different opinions on this

Post

I think the product would benefit from more than one skin - though, it doesn't bother me that much. One dark and one light skin should cover it! And the brushed metal _does_ look pretty damn good :)

Hi, i have 0.98 installed...sending CC on channels >1 does not have any effect as far as i can see.
