OK
I did a very short demo, and perhaps a bit of clipping, but came off OK.
http://www.algomusic.nl/previews/M42FX1.mp3
At first you will hear the unprocessed wave ( we were using this wave to test the SE1 in SE..its a looped chord)Then M42 NebulaFX fades in, and I am tweaking as it's going, playing with the filters and warp, and turning the ring mod off and on.It's amazing what it can do with a simple wave. You can turn anything into M42 Totem sounds!
Comments welcome

Hi Tim,
nice little tune,
it seems the fx is really good.
I´d like to hear it with a bass- or drumloop.
Sounds a lot like the M42.
good work from Dr.A. and you.

Ok so this is what happens when I get out of the Algomusic loop - You guys go off and come up with another great idea. Seen the screenies, heard the demo, have M42 already of course. Can't wait to see this new scion of the M42 in action.
We shall see orchestral machines with a thousand new sounds, with thousands of new euphonies, as opposed to the present day's simple sounds of strings, brass, and woodwinds. -- George Antheil, circa 1925 ---

yes...coming right along and we are testing new ideas and putting in NEW modules, which might even become the blueprint for ver 2 of M42 Nebula VSTi ! Right now however it is still in Alpha stage and is an SE1 file, so no VST plug yet.gnu23 wrote:Ok so this is what happens when I get out of the Algomusic loop - You guys go off and come up with another great idea. It looks pretty good. The gui is nice & clean. The mp3 sounds very professional & sophisticated.
Keep the good work.

The DR has been working on it this week, by serindipity. He has a new GUI for it too, and very impressive.Looks like a Korg Karma :-)Maybe we can post another screen shot.YBaCuO wrote:I am still waiting for this to be finished. I really want it!
Any hope?

Thanks TC for the response. Obviously, I'm really looking forward to the release!
Here are some comments/questions:
I want more LFO ratio and Pulsar mode choices, and the new MOD features hinted at in the M51 thread!
However, I do have one small problem. I often double lines to bring out the more rhythmic part of the sound, but I have a hard time eliminating the drone part of the sound too (I'm refering to just one OSC now). I have learned that careful adjustment of all sliders (F,Q, the ADSR, and the LFO/Pulsar amounts) can help to emphasize the RYM part but I still have problems getting exactly what I want. I have even resorted to adding the suzzphut gate but ...
I was hoping that the M42FX would eliminate this problem but now I'm thinking that this won't necessarily help. Am I being clear? For example, if I want an ARP 3rd and 5th, I want to hear only the 3rd and 5th and not the root. And the same idea for the other type of SEQ and RYM sounds. Your MP3 example of the M42FX has the same drone+RYM sound, and I only want the RYM part!

AHHH...thats because I added a bit of the original wave in the mix. Without it, you only hear the RYM part.
and yes..to get only RYMS and no drone on M42, its in the envelopes.
I have to tell you I have been working on new RYM patches this morning..hope to finish today, and I am being very surprised at the sound! Its been a while since going back to the M42, since I have been working on so many other devs's patches
