So it has it's own separate modulation system ?

That makes it a bit more interesting.

I won't be using it, unless I can load several layers of PredatorFx and their other effects for audio mangling.

But it doesn't look like there is an effects version.

I think Rob holds Jon back as he's a boring normal guy and Jon used to release some interesting stuff under ConcreteFX

No effects?

Still not sure it offers more than i can do now in a Live instrument rack....

Post

Agreed. It's Instrument Racks.
It looks nice. Maybe it would have been cool to have different instruments modulate others etc? Macro controls? Morph between 4 synths in selectable states?

Rob Papen is really awesome, i got RP-Delay in a no-brainer deal for $5 once, and since that, i got 2 more free plugins to my account, RP-Distort, and RP-AMod, and obviously i get this one too for free now. :tu:

but you won't be able to use it....instruments, not effects

I like it, may be pretty fast to make patches if you can switch patches for each unit from prisma directly which it seems. Could be a really fast way to throw together awesome stacked sounds.

Imagine if Blue 2 was DX7 compatible (is it?). Stack 4 DX7 sounds easily av layer them with velocity etc.

Oh, then i guess i misunderstood the whole thing. Thought it worked with any VST. Just briefly checked.

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough... I was replying to the guy above me and wasn't talking specifically about Prisma (don't know anything about it), I was talking in general, about internal (to the synth) vs external (not talking hardware here, but external to the synth (VSTs, DAW's)) FXs. Some people don't use internal FXs and prefer to use external, but many synths allow to modulate internal FX parameters which is impossible with external FXs.

For people saying "it's an instrument rack"... Try importing your rack from Live into Studio One or Reaper. Try building banks of presets from rack so you can use them in any DAWs or even sell/share.

I'm not a sound designer (though I can program sounds I want and tweak others to my liking) it's really nice to have access to good layered presets that it's still possible to tweak. Impossible with rack only.

And knowing Rob's previous products, Prisma will surely comes with hundreds (if not thousand) of really good, usable presets.

Also, you can't beat free! Don't like it, don't use it.

Perfectly valid point if you need to use a variety of DAW's. I just use Live, and while I will look into Prisma, as I've said before, Live seems to have all this capability already.

I thought it would be released after NAMM, but not until March

Post

seems to be nice, hope it integrates punsh and later all the RP-fx, so it could play some nice patterns with beats like d16 lush and nexus.
Hope the presets are not only dance, edm and trance, there should be more genres like techno, minimal, electro, dubstep etc...
Nice idea to get more out of the explorer bundle....

Got the Newsletter, saying Prisma due end March.
And for me, also a question whether PRISMA can load Albino III or not....
