Hi, noobie question here: I've activated the license and downloaded SW 2.5.1. When i try to open the SW .vst file via Ableton Live 9 it shows up in the menu but is empty when i click on it.
Also, if I click on it directly in my downloads page (outside of any DAW) it attempts to open via MaxForLive. My trial for Max has expired so i get a message that it can't be opened.
Anyone any experience of this?
Dying to try it so any help appreciated!!

Have you actually installed the plug-in? See the user manual.

OK. Then I don't know what you mean by "When i try to open the SW .vst file".

Hi, gonna try again:
Below is what i'm seeing in Live
I'm assuming the plug in is supposed to load and appear at this point?

Can you show the whole Live browser, for context?

You need to read the Live documentation; more specifically on loading and using plugins.
Start with section 5.1 on using the Browser, and 17.2 on using non-Live plugins

From the 'Places' part of the Browser, or from 'Plugins' under the 'Categories' part?mazunte wrote:ok thanks. I do use other non-live plug-ins without any problem. eg waves, sound toys etc..
Because the second one is how you should be accessing plugins, yet your image shows you trying to load a plugin via the first one.

That's it, thank you! Appreciate your patience. One more thing, say I have a midi file in ableton and want it trigger notes on my juno 6 via my dc coupled out... Which of the SW plug-ins am i using? "SW CV to OSC"?

How are you connecting the Juno?

My plan is to use the dc coupled out of my RME fireface UCX soundcard to trigger the 'arpeggio clock in' of the juno.
I currently trigger the juno using a rimshot sample on my mpc or using a 707 or 101..
Failing that, i'll just use SW to trigger the sh-101.

Im slightly confused now. That sounds like you're now talking about controlling the arpeggiation tempo, but your question originally wasmazunte wrote:My plan is to use the dc coupled out of my RME fireface UCX soundcard to trigger the 'arpeggio clock in' of the juno.

"say I have a midi file in ableton and want it trigger notes on my juno 6" which reads like you want to play the notes from the MIDI sequence on the Juno, a rather different thing.
Clarification would be useful, as I dont think the Juno has CV input so you wont be able to do the latter with Silent Way. The Juno does have DCB, though, so a MIDI->DCB box would let you do it from Live.
However, if all you do want is the clocking, and if you already know audio will trigger the clock, why not just play an audio loop from live?

Yes, i would like to play the notes from the midi sequence via the Juno but i think you're right - that's probably not possible on a juno as there's no cv input.
Nor does the Juno 6 have DCB to my knowledge... that's the Juno 60 and the Jupiter 8 i think.
I was hoping SW might provide some kind of 'cheat' to the Juno's architecture but i guess that was fantasy on my part
