wagtunes wrote:Well, this is what happens when the folks here get a hold of a really amazing synth. I've listened to just 5 tracks so far and what I'm hearing is nothing short of inspirational.

This is going to be one tough voting session.
I agree, so many great tracks from quite a lot of "newcomers" as well - or at least folk who have not been around OSC for a while.

I'm so glad I have been listening (and commenting with first thoughts) as they have been posted up - except of course all those late entries - hah! - yes you Z' - late in and always just great, don't know how you do it man.

It's gonna take the next 2 weeks to get this voting done - will have to use the 1-5 range this time - fair warning everyone - 1 just means "not as great as 5"!

... and once again ... fantastic jobs everyone - with more time with this synth the tracks could be even more awesome - Oh yes, good luck everyone :tu:

Well, I didn't make it in for this one :(

Two weeks away from my DAW, the DEMO bomb and a failed monitor (yeah I'm looking at you Mr Dell :x) have proved too much for me this month. And I thought last month was a toughie :hihi:

Anyway I look forward to listening to your creations and dropping some comments.

Best of luck all,

BH

Since Soundcloud suddenly stopped treating the group as a playlist and randomly choosing some other track I made a playlist.
I hope I got every one on it:

This makes listening to the OSC tracks a bit more mobile friendly as well!

Good luck everyone, have listened to most (I think) and you've all made some great stuff this month!

Hi BJ --

Has MeldaProduction come up with a discount for OSC participants so we can purchase the synth?

Thanks.

In my usual tradition, I'm announcing my top 5. All these people received perfect scores. There were many 4s but these 5 were the best, IMO.

At the top, and my hands down vote to win it all, is...

7angram - Singularity

Just an amazing composition, mix, everything.

Rounding out the top 5

Z' - Heist
mcaitch - Vibes
Meakaale - Haywire Metronome Attitude
kokotte - Superhrdina

I've been coming pretty close on these so we'll see how I do this month.

As for my own personal prediction, which I always fall short on, I'm calling it somewhere between 20th and 24th.

This will be my last OSC. I just don't have the time to put into these with my business picking up and now working with 3rd party vendors. Something's gotta give and since I don't all that well in these anyway, it's an easy choice to make.

I've enjoyed it in spite of the disappointments but it's time to move on.

I'll miss all you guys. Good luck this month with the Maxsynths VST.

I'm sure you'll have fun with it.

Peace.

Hey Steven,

Sorry to see you go. :( Don't forget to come back in if you ever do find a little time. :phones: Also, don't forget to get back to me on that wee ditty you're going to work on. I'll PM my personal email to you for "easier" communication, as I don't use twitbook or the like - it's good to keep in touch :tu:

See ya,

Thanks Doc. Yes, that one OSC you did that I loved so much. Can't believe that one didn't make top 5. But glad you made it with the last one.

I hope I can find the time to work on that. These days, I need 96 hours in a day just to keep my head above water.

And with that, I now have to go out to the store so I don't starve.

You're welcome back anytime. I think you did a smashing job when you kept putting up the previews a while back, and you even placed well. When you come back, we should do that again.

Take care

... also voted, might change things around but will be pretty busy the next couple weeks.

As always, anyone who wants constructive criticism feel free to PM me.

Some very cool tracks, 3 stood out and made my 5 point list; a few others would have with better sound choices or various other slight tweaks.

I ended up liking MPS okay, the pop-up windows didn't bother me. The crashing was irritating, seemed isolated to the FX matrix, mostly when moving things. Overall I was impressed by the flexibility but I'll still load up Serum to use on a regular basis.

Voted. It's tough rating general contests since there are submissions from all walks of life.
Good job to all participants.

Personally, I didn't become a fan of MPS. I admit it's a very capable synth, but seems to fight my usual workflow. I might need to keep it just for the chorus though.

Many tracks from where I can learn a lot! You guys are so good with synth-tweaking!
