What do you not like about lives automation? My qualm is that it sort of interferes with the clip location.

Clip automation to me is fine, but in the Arrangement view I've always hated the way it overlaps on top of the midi and audio information. It's totally messy looking. I always have a hard time with it. I get nauseous looking at that automation disaster when it's time to do some quick editing on the automation. I think it's more the contrast between the two that makes it terrible to my eyes. They should have given the option to put automation on it's own track then I would be able to stomach it. Just my opinion of course.

Well you can put each automation into its own sub-track if that helps, just hit the + icon to create a lane that takes your currently editing automation and put it on a track beneath the clip

i wish more people would get journals and write stuff in them and then put the journal back in the drawer of the nightstand then go to sleep. then one day 5 years later flip through the journal and realize "what a bunch of horseshit" and throw thing in a fire. but i guess we can all just keep sharing every thought we have on the internet like it's important.

So on the main lane you pick what your editing, if you want it to go to its own lane hit the + button beneath the 2 drops downs, that will move it to another lane like I did with hold/rel

I just didnt draw any in, its a blank clip, but i see what you mean. When you put the automation on its own lane like that and have notes then yea, you will have a ghosted image of the notes behind it

I cant understand why they dont do automation snap to grid thing. Very standard feature in every daw. Also, it has been request for years now. Are those developer retarted? :v

I wouldn't go as far as to say they're retarded, but adding certain common features that we have gotten used to having in every other DAW seems to be a problem for Ableton. This seems to be the ops point of frustration as well.
