today i woke up with a meaningful feeling
i was happy to go to work and speak to people
i know this feeling inspires colleagues and is so much more important to our company as knowledge or skills
when the sphere is soothing the rest will follow. I know the power of positive thought works
i was wondering, do artists on this forum ever wonder about the effects of there music?
many times i just wrote what i liked and i must say I'm better at reaching a desired effect when i write words as when i write sounds
if only i could make the pieces i sometimes hear on this forum !
do you believe it is possible to make a small change in the world by spreading a good message or better yet a good feeling ?
or do you feel believing you even have the tiniest effect on the ways of the world is vein ?
At times i feel i should stop with pedantic lectures about what people should or shouldn't do because a musician is not a school teacher
but than i see militant zealots f**k up the world or negative energy like discord spreading like a virus, or stoically behaving people reconcile to the sick situation / state of the world. Or ancient doctrines kill unity
is healing the world a responsibility of the artistically inclined ? should we inspire others or be like others and just live and play for ourselves?
i feel like i have wasted 32 years of my artistic life by not exploring the borders of what's artistically possible for me
perhaps it's time to learn how to play an instrument and make a plan on how to inspire people and spread love amongst people.
love is round / like a bubble / it's brittle / like time / to the infinite / turn
if imu4ursim, i should definitely have to offer myself more as this nerdy computer life and limited skills.

you already inspired us a lot.
your music is good and interesting. when i see a thread of yours in the Music Café you can be sure i'll download the track. i have a complete CD with your works.
speaking about your writings. I love the lyrics you give in the Lyrics Submission Thread (i used one for this month contest BTW).
i've always been impressed by your english level... you're a dutch c**t, aren't you? how it comes that you so beautifully write in english? did you live in the UK or something?
cheers

you inspire us to !!!!!!!!!!!
Native English ? I'm afraid it's not
it's often a 1 on 1 translation from Dutch
my vocab is pretty broad but i don't "think" in English, and my gramma and spelling isn't very good
i lived in England for some months, but not long enough to speak English fluently
thanks for using one of my lines again pal ! I'm feeling honoured
the latest writings i put in the lyric thread are meant in a funny way
but hey let's not talk about me - great you feel like you could make a difference to !
we all have cool things to say and i must say the more politically and spiritually loaded songs by for instance putte or dt move me the most ! Even if i disagree - i feel like - hey - at least they do think and don't close there eyes to (wrote "for" you see - that`s one mistake already
so i guess some choose to offer an escape from reality
and the other approach is facing reality
our demons - our wishes - our love - our anger - our fear - etcetera
some let the music speak for itself which is cool to
yep we surely are a highly creative community

your notCypherOne wrote:do you mean what effect my music has on others? If so, then no I don't, but then I'm really really shallow.
just because your shallow optimism and shallow light hearted arguments are funny doesn't mean you don't inspire others or have some effect on them.
perhaps you should think about the effect of your music or words like a gunman practises his aim to stay sharp - i know i should more often

Yes. Art does affect people. And even if it's used simply as "escapism," you could argue that there's a real need for that through art and music.Emerald Tablet wrote: do you believe it is possible to make a small change in the world by spreading a good message or better yet a good feeling ?

No. I don't think it's a "responsibility" in the way you mean that. I think the only way to do art or music that is any good -- any good in itself, or for others, or for yourself -- is to try and follow your 'muse,' the thing that causes you to be passionate and excited about what you are creating. The thing is, you don't have much choice about what really gets the creative juices flowing. You can only follow whatever that inspiration is when you find it happening.is healing the world a responsibility of the artistically inclined ?
And there are lots of different things that inspire people to create -- not just the idea of inspiring others or spreading love.

a) yes, indeedy, my friend! You can/should/will continue along the path of the newbie/sage/preacher.
b) If ya don't do this Big-Ole thing, things will work out ok, as they always do. Don't forget this important lesson.
c) I assume you have already been diagnosed as bi-polar, not if not, um....
have fun

I just write what I like. It always surprises me if it means something to somebody. "What were you thinking of when you wrote that?" "Dunno. Good music?"Emerald Tablet wrote:i was wondering, do artists on this forum ever wonder about the effects of there music?
