Nice work, t-willy!

I never listened to it for the contest because... well... there were 59 entries and I couldn't keep up.

Nice METEL harmonics in the riffage. Very Zakk Wylde-esque, though he certainly isn't the only meteler to use harmonics in such a way.

Only just a weee weeeee weeee bit too much level on the vocals for my personal tastes, but it's better than burying them like I tend to do. I think Hetfield in Black Album era.

Nice solo!! Not too widdly, but still shred-worthy. Perfect for the song. Why does it sound so artificial as it fades out, though, at 1:57. Weird!

Love it, though! I can see why you placed top 3. :D

thx a bunch greg. much appreciation for the Hetfield comments :D i'll pass on your kind words to the guitarists as well. its funny you mentioned the fade out after the solo. that note was acutally held out the entire time during the "calmer" middle part. it sounded funny so i manually faded it out (with my audio editor). thanks for taking the time to listen and the comments.

With the full piece, it's like I am standing next to the most ace band on the planet - the whole instrumentation thing kicks me hard and I wanna be twenty doing an air guit next to Mick Jones...

Be that as it may, I am completely depressed about the vocal mix. I wouldn't be, except that I know in my nads that it could have been A LOT better - so that's my main critique and the reason I voted as I did on it (I ain't into too much critiquing until after all the votes are in). :wink:

I would LOVE an opportunity to remix it. :)

In fact, I'd be willing to do my mix on it (to back up my mouth) if I could get the trax... 8)

But then.. who the f**k am I to say such a thang on what is otherwise is a great jam? :hihi:

wow xander, i'm not sure what to say about that except thank you, thank you :D :D :D :D :D

i suck ass at mixing and wish i was a lot better. vocals are so damn hard when you have 20 takes and five or six guitar tracks.

i think it'd be cool to have a fresh mix of this tune though. how do you want the files. a lot of the vocal effects have distortion so do you want them with it or just purely dry as hell? let me know.

I surely hope and wonder what a different mix would sound like. This production ain't bad, but just lacks that final oempf somehow.

The tune itself is just great.....

If it weren't so busy so shortly for the Southport weekend I'd climb aboard the mix/remix-wagon (then again I am still waiting for some separates from you from a couple months back ;) )

Really cool stuff.. Your vocals also reminded me of Hetfield, in a good way :)

The vocals are mixed ok except for in the chorus ('do you think I was born yesterday') where they are waaay too loud. I say give Xander a try with the remix, why not?

METEEEEL !!!

the voice is strangely mixed but the guitars part is amazing. the overall sound is, well, a bit muddy. EQ is your friend.

bring these guitars on foreground.

powerful nonetheless.




to be perfect, would need an organ, tho :D

yeah the guitars have too much mid for my liking, its especially noticable at the beginning of the track - once the drums/bass kick in its not as bad.
