Tracktion released BioTek Synthesizer Plugin (Sound Designer Edition now available)

Check first my videos abut BioTek. There you see how deep you can transform the sounds. A rompler can't do such deep manipulations. Inside a rompler, the sound are very fixed and you have only the same paramters for all sounds. Here you have in each presets other parameters which are mapped to a lot of different parameters in the hidden synthesis architecture.

What I have heard, the new presets will available soon for free. They have some other sound designers onboard to make more presets.

Or in other words:

We had to dumb it down for 2 reasons.

1. We can't rely on anybody other than a "Synth Sound Designer" to know what the heck they are doing with a full tilt "real big Synthesiser"
2. We'll make more money by dumbing it down and releasing "sound pack" updates to keep the masses interested...

Tell me about it. I was intrigued until I realized that for us ignorant mere mortals lacking the mystical skills of a 'Synth Sound Designer', it wasn't really a synth. They should call it 'BioTek Player' and just sell the sound packs. I think it would lead to less confusion (and less irritation), and it's a fair enough product as lon gas you're up front about what it is - and isn't.

Player no because it's far better than a classic player synthesizer. In a player synthesizer you can only ajust filter or so. Here you transform a sound completely. Check minute 5:00 in my video : More sounds and conclusion and you see how you can change a sound from a texture sound to included arp sound

Not really/necessarily... In Alchemy Player you could also transform the sound to something completely different.

They spend a lot of time on a simple sound like this in the vid, makes me think this is another Eisenberg Einklang

I want to hear vast complex pads out of such a plug, not sharp hardline leads, or dubstep drum programming

So it's like Alchemy Player where a person can change a sound with the Remix Pad.

This went completely under my radar. Was excited to see a new synth by Wolfram Franke. Looking at it now, it leaves me underwhelmed though. Very esoteric approach, and a lot of emotional buzz in the product videos. Also the synth's approach seems to be to try hard to make it different. Even after watching the videos, it seems hard to grasp the concept. Probably i'm too simple minded, and too much of a pragmatic type of person. Anyway, after his other synth, which i can't even remember the name of, the one with the horrible GUI, i think i rather like the synths he did at Waldorf than his new stuff. Fair enough.

Biotek gets updated to v1.0.6:

- Fixed non-working automation of some parameters.
- Fixed missing slider update of parameter automation.

Reading the promo blurb one more time, makes me think isn't this what most Kontakt scripted libs lets user do?:

BioTek doesn’t recycle or remix the same old sounds. Instead, all raw sounds are crafted by our designers then you have the ability to manipulate a wide range of parameters with BioTek’s unique interface.

...or maybe users need to be online with Biotek, so the designers can craft sounds in real time ?

I actually started downloading and was watching a promo vid in the background. I cancelled the download when it got to the part about somebody else having patched everything "in ways you never would have come up with". I may not be the world's greatest driver, but I still prefer to drive myself.
