Yeah you were right about all this. And he continues this strategy of playing contributer, though he obviously isn't interested in the synth at all in the first place. Sorry for being deliberately naive about it but sometimes you just want to believe in the best of people and hope it will work.

Good build? Probs with 'clicks'?

Good build and great sound - very well thought out. I hate to add any more noise to the clicking thread. I've spent a day with it and used it on a track. I love it. Any comments around the clicking are inconsequential to me.... every instrument worth playing has its characteristics and in the Minilogue it is all good...if I wanted consistent and pure I'd have bought digital, banged on a triangle or just loaded a vst. That's not what this is about.

The build quality is very good, the keys are not good, and the sound is very, very good. I'd choose it over a Juno 60 but not over a Jupiter-4. It easily beats out any other currently available analog under $1,000, IMO.

Very wise words and verdict. Wonder why there hasn't been such kind of hysteria with regard to e.g. Korg Volcas? They are noisy as hell, especially Volca Keys, but that is exactly what their analog nature is about. Makes them so alive and kicking.

So far I just read comments on the keys regarding their smaller size, but when you say "the keys are not good" do you mean the key action is not good, or just the fact that they are smaller makes them not good?

Great build, especially at this price point. Good Solid feel to all the pots, flip switches are a great touch. Metal face. Even the buttons feel fine, they don't get stuck.

Sounds very different from the Moog variety, it's not a million miles away from the A4, it's definitely on that thinner side, but it's also a bit more raspy and somewhat wilder sounding than the A4. I don't think it's become obvious to everyone yet just how varied it can sound.

Overall, It feels like a real instrument to me. I did walkthrough of it, could help if you haven't seen it already.

Imo if you want a cheap analog this is a very good option.

It's a fabulous overview video. Very nicely produced and does a great job of showing off what this instrument can do. Anyone who is interested in learning more about this synth should check it out.

Great demo of a great synth, Aiyn.
Considering the quality of the keys KORG might have well released it as a desktop unit, however, I don't know how much lower the price would have been.

In one of his videos Marcus Fuller takes a look inside the Minilogue, and you can see the 4 circuits for the oscillators next to each other.
If you imagine a synth with 5 octaves, or even 4 octaves with full size keys, then you could put at least eight circuits for the oscillators next to each other.
An eight voice Maxilogue...

Heck, if it sported a full-sized keyboard they might even be able to make a 12-voice version and still have it be reasonably priced.

Both. A DX100 feels better to me.

The keys are not too bad, but they are on the "mushy side". For all practical purposes, think Microkorg, except here the keys are slightly bigger and therefore a little easier to play. Personally, I'm okay with them, but do not expect the same kind of keys that you would get on a Motif, etc.
