Am I the only one, who is really annoyed by how erratically the playback cursor behaves when changing clip loop properties while it´s playing? I sent this to support too.
---
Hi, a few remarks, I´ve been trying to work my tracks for my live set, I bought a Surface Pro 3 and will play with that and Bitwig from now on.
I am doing everything without the cover keypad just to see if I can work on my stuff on the go more easily.
If a new playback position has been set by double clicking on the playback bar activating or deactivating the loop, or changing it´s length causes the track to immediately start from the clip start position. Subsequent edits to the loop do not cause this.
Also, the mute button is just below the loop length parameters, working on fingers it´s really easy to accidentally mute track, this is very bad in a live situation.
Dragging the clip start triangle while the track is playing back causes the playback cursor to jump proportionally.
Also I think there is a bug here, since sometimes changing the loop properties while the playback cursor is inside the loop and the loop is activated causes the playback cursor to jump to a different place inside the loop, and sometimes not and the playback just continues nicely, I can´t see consistent behavior here.
Also, if I enable the loop, and it´s behind the current play position, the playback cursor will jump inside the loop immediately, and not even the loop start, but some seemingly random-ish position. And when I disable the loop, playback will immediately jump somewhere far outside the loop, instead of the track just continuing to play past the loop end marker. All actions like this should be synced to the beat, so that the effects only happen at the end of the beat. So this way the playback would be smooth, like in Ableton Live. Now regarding playing a live in Bitwig, the loop option is basically useless, since there is so much sudden jumps with the playback...
All said, regarding live play, all chances of the playback cursor suddenly moving should be eliminated, as well as the possibility to accidentally mute it, etc.
Changing loop parameters live, inconsistent action
