After a long absence, I'm back. I hope everybody do well here in our club of friends!
Hello BlackWinny,
welcome back! Good to see you again on this forum!

I checked the MIDI file. The file consists of 4 tracks of which 3 tracks are empty. If you drop this file over Reaper, you will see the same. You are right that RC should ignore empty tracks, I'll fix this shortly. (EDIT: it is fixed now)

The short answer is: uncheck "Convert To Relative Notes".
It is not a good idea to convert monophonic melody-like phrases to chord-relative form. It would make more sense to convert it to scale-relative, but that is not an option with batch conversion. If you import the MIDI file through "MIDI Import" you will see that RC finds good chords (Fsus2 (could be F) , and F major) for the phrase, but if the phrase is converted to relative form, and you change some chords in the middle of the phrase, notes will follow, and in the end it will be a different phrase.

Thanks,
Attila

Hi magicmusic,

The phrase editor will be improved in the near future, so that you can conveniently edit velocity, and various midi controllers at the bottom.
You can use articulations even today on single notes (or on phrases):

For this the phrase must be inside a track where you selected a 'controller set' which has articulation definitions. There are a few included for mostly older libraries, but I can help to create articulation definitions for your virtual instrument (it is a text file).

However phrases in the phrase library cannot contain articulations, I suppose this is what you need. Phrases in the library are not associated with any articulations, it must be considered how articulations could be added, and how you will know which phrase use which articulation definitions. In other words which virtual instrument articulations the phrase is using.

Thanks,
Attila

Hello Attila. I see RC support articulation, and when choose in a rythm phrase "mute", then the translation map use the correct keyswitch. this can work in a phrase too. But even if it not work, maybe you find it usefull that in phrase generator a rythm note can choose some pitch bend effects ?. I think important for music is use bending .there is way to fake bends good enough, but i get not working in RC, or do you know a way, that i can create 1 note step above a note in a phrase or in generator, because notes are mapped to scale ?. For the short time of the bend, the fit to chord should not work
see the video, how i do in nora polyphonic arp. this use sample tank and a legato sound with portamento time. I do not own nora, this is done with Demo. the video record software i use record only mono sound

You are right, magicmusic, it is unavoidable in the long run that phrases should contain pitch bend messages, and MIDI controllers.
do you know a way, that i can create 1 note step above a note in a phrase or in generator, because notes are mapped to scale ?.
That is easy. Each note has its own mapping (=the algorithm that will turn it to an absolute note). You can freely add a note which is 'scale note + semitones' to anywhere, you are not constrained to a scale. It will work with any scale. Similarly, if your phrase contains chord notes only, you can still apply a semitone offset to any note (choose 'Chord Note + semitones' as the mapping for that single note, even if all other notes are 'Chord Note + scale steps).

Thanks,
Attila

Thanks guys for thoughts on guitar articulations.

Hello Attila!
Very often, while working, I need to change the quickly tempo of the song ... and very often inconvenient to open the master track inspector (mouse button turned red finger)) I suggest tempo window placed on the master track to the left (where the magnet) but requires the following:
1. Window with tempo digits (preferably: drag the digit up - then temp increases, drag the digit down - then temp decrease)
2. tempo slider (left and right).
3. Window with memory my own tempo values (eg 70,100,120 ..) In order for to be able quickly switch (to select) the tempo, it can be called presets!
Now there is no possibility to quickly manipulate the tempo (
Thank you !

Hi Attila
About my report of the resizing of an phrase. It happen that even when change the resizing method in a phrase to repeat, when resize it jump back to what is choose in main window. maybe it is better when in main window is show the correct setting of a phrase, when a phrase use not default.

The number of new features and the speed of their introductions are so high that we have a lot of difficulties to follow them!

I have never seen in my life a product increasing so richly and so quickly! It is a continuous rain of new flowers! And they fall so numerous that it is hard to be aware of them all! Really the work of a true passion from Attila! Incredible! Honestly: Respect! I have never enough kudos to send to Attila!

Thank you so much for the nice comment, BlackWinny.
It is a labour of love, but the driving force and inspiration is provided by all the creative RC users...

Hi Attila,

kudos also from me for your constant improvements of RC, it's just unbelievable.
I think I found one bug, when testing RC as VST in Ableton: I just upgraded to Ableton 9.5. But when I drop RC's plugin on one of the tracks, it opens the old Ableton version 9, which is still installed on my disk.

Best regards,

Thomas

Attila, I can really only follow all previous speakers. Rapidcomposer is by far the best developed software I have in my arsenal and I really appreciate your close connection to us users here in the KVRAudio forum.
One thing I would like to mention though is that I hope you do not loose the focus on releasing a final 3.0 version soon over all these tweaks and improvements.
Because a lot of users don't like to work with betas and are waiting for 3.0 final. I see people selling RC here on KVR way too cheap for all your dedication you put into the program. And one reason might be that they wanted to have a full version and not only betas.
I myself am fully satisfied with a beta just to mention. But please think of this. I really don't want Rapidcomposer an eternal beta software that's sold way too cheap here.
Cheers, M.

You are right Michelle, it bothers me too that the development of v3.0 is taking so long. Good news is that I am working on the last planned feature (idea tool rewrite) before the release, and it goes well. The long beta testing was useful to keep in touch with users but I definitely don't want it to be an "eternal beta". I checked there were 4 license transfers in the last year (altogether 7 in the last 6 years), which is not that bad.

Best,
Attila
