I don't know about the time signature changes. I thought it is for some endings in songs or in some creative way in few songs (like Queen's bohemian rhapsody), but most of the songs I hear have one tempo. Which genre uses tempo changes?

There are a good number of Beatles songs that use time signature changes... Zappa did it a lot. Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Genesis, sometimes... tons of performers had a song or two. Switching between 4/4 and 3/4 is common in many songs between verse and chorus.

Plenty of Jazz/Fusion... and various famous pop songs. Lots of Orchestration has time signature changes.

And if you score for video time signature changes are an essential tool.

I need to check if the intro version of Live has external instrument device. I'm keeping Live's intro anyway. Not sure I would upgrade to Standard because it is too much for me to have so many DAWs. I think it is either Bitwig or Live. I could also be happy with Live Standard Those two are really great musical DAWs. They push for creativity and to use more advanced and complex blocks or chains.

I need to replicate BDeep's example in Spark's thread because I couldn't find a way to integrate it with the Drum Machine. It would be great if I can.

Live is more polished and developed. The thing I have always liked about Live is using it is more like a musical instrument than an engineering tool. Bitwig is even more fun than Live that way. Bitwig has better integration between the Clip Launcher (Session view) and Arranger. Editing is better in Bitwig and Bitwig's modulation system is unrivaled. You need Live with Max 4 Live to do the same sorts of modulation.

Thanks dsan for the examples. Yanni was from my favorites when I was young I forgot about him! I'll see if I can find a CD for him here in the shops. It also will motivate me in my piano learning

I have never put attention to pop/rock songs. I always thought the time signature changes is an advanced Orchestration technique! But, now I need to review back Pink Floyed and Genesis songs

I don't think I will see time signature changes in my Piano's Beginner tutorial. I'm almost in the last quarter of it. I hope I will understand it (and how to use it) in the Intermediate tutorial. I will keep that in mind

Yes, I have noticed that some of the supported controllers are absent here but present there and vice versa. I think I could easily map the macros to my Casio knobs and sliders but with Blofeld it keeps forget it. Is the macros (the 8 macros) are related to each project? Is there a way to map the knobs only once globally and apply it to every project?

If you score for anything, I'd imagine you'd use DP, ProTools, Logic, or perhaps Cubase. This is one area both Bitiwig & Ableton are lacking; there's no score editing.

You don't need to use notation to do soundtrack work. Plenty of people doing soundtrack work in those DAW's use the regular arrangement.

I'm using Notion for scores. It is really good and has VST/VSTi support as well (although I never bothered about loading any instrument/effect with it), but I'm using it mainly for learning Piano and Music Theory. For everything else, I use mostly Bitwig

No need to travel that far back in time. Opeth, Tool, Porcupine Tree and Spock's Beard are just a few of the creative bands out today making extensive use of odd time signatures.

However if you do wish to take a listen to bands like Genesis or Yes, make sure you go back far enough; before they all sold out and began making pop crap.

btw, this MaxScore looks great but I only have the Intro version of Live without Max for Live.
I wish that Bitwig (or another developer) makes something like this for Bitwig.

MaxScore runs on Java. It is sluggish and not usable for professional work. Also you need a JMSL license to run it which costs money.

Sibelius and Notion have Rewire support so you can connect them with any DAW. Many professionals do this.

Yes, I have Notion and use it and I can export as midi and use it in Bitwig when necessary. I just thought maybe it is easier to have everything in one DAW (including notation). Anyway, maybe not! If this would make the software difficult to manage and introduces bugs!
