That's my thinking too. That feature is pretty much confirmed in my mind.SeeingInMidi wrote:just rewatched the teaser. I spotted a red fader, red fader = vca fader?

But you have the option to unlock this limitation for $99, right? It becomes like Producer v3. I think it is fair.Uncle E wrote:This I very much agree with you on. I don't think Presonus should minimize their offerings but I do think it would be great for them to expand Artist's capabilities.imprint wrote:But alas, Artist is useless if I can't load anything other than internal instruments.
The problem is what happens when I want to upgrade to Professional (from Artist + unlocked VST..etc)? Do I need to pay the same money as upgrade from Artist only and I loose the $99? This is not fair IMO.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I think it's $79. I wouldn't do it personally, mmv as usual, I'd just wait for a good sale (like now, $50) and upgrade to Pro and get everything.
But as for Artist not supporting third party plugs... that ship sailed long ago, 7 years ago, and I doubt it will ever change. The real product is Pro. No harm in discussing it but expecting it to change is I think, probably a waste of time.
I wouldn't spend much time worrying about it. Anyone wanting to make music has so many great product choices now it's practically irrelevant.

I would hope so. I wouldn't want to watch a live cast that focused on vca faders..bungle wrote:Definitely far from revolutionary, so would just be a secondary featureSeeingInMidi wrote:just rewatched the teaser. I spotted a red fader, red fader = vca fader?

Lets be fair, Presonus history shows that they could easily live cast for two hours about how revolutionary their VCA is hahahaSeeingInMidi wrote:I would hope so. $79? Even better! You have triggered my GAS! I need to check how much to add/upgrade my Artist! Yes I'm very happy with Bitwig, but GAS doesn't go well with logicLawrenceF wrote:I think it's $79. Update:
Well, the upgrade from Artist to Pro for me now is: 390.57 NZD (too much!), but the VST/Rewire support is reasonable: 129.99 NZD especially when I got the Artist with the iTwo interface as a bonus.
For Artist, I still can run Reaktor and Kontakt. I don't have Kontakt but I have some Reaktor instruments. The problem it is not seeing Reaktor 6, so I need to install Reaktor 5.
Anyway, I'll wait to see what will be added the 25th of Feb, and how the cpu performance is going before buying the VST/Rewire support.

I wanted to join in for the cast, but you have to start an account with this Eventbrite? What the hell? I started doing it the decided to read the Eventbrite EULA? To get invited to receive a PreSonus LIVE E-mail reminder? Dude, I was completely confused when I started reading about a contractual agreement between me and Eventbrite????? I crapped out right after that. I'll just wait for the hype to flow through other channels afterwards thank you.qtheerearranger wrote:I can't lie tho the last webcast wasn't that bad... It's just a LiveStream afaik. You can make your own calendar alerts for things if you need to be reminded of an event.

I assume if I go there on the 25th at 11 a.m. it will be playing like any other LiveStream there.

Gotcha man. I just found it odd having to make a password, and as to what and why all the legal jargon was for, just to sign up for the reminder. I got spooked. I also wanted to enter the giveaway. I never enter giveaways.LawrenceF wrote:It's just a LiveStream afaik. You can make your own calendar alerts for things if you need to be reminded of an event.

It is not fair since there is no upgrade option for V2 producer owners except for overpaying to get the Artist + Vst support or upgrade to Professional v3 for a high price.
If they would give artist + vst as a cheaper upgrade option for the producer crowd it would be fair.

Me either, I almost never register for giveaways. Maybe create a new Gmail or free email address or something to register with and delete it afterward, dunno, but there should be an easy enough way to avoid giving that company whatever they're looking for, if anything.I also wanted to enter the giveaway. That's exactly what I was talking about. It's as if though I was signing an agreement with them but it's not clear what exactly it is.LawrenceF wrote:...to avoid giving that company whatever they're looking for, if anything.
