As all of the instruments here are sample libraries, shouldn't this be in the sample library sub-forum?

The forum descriptions state:

• Instruments: VST, AU, etc. plug-in Virtual Instruments discussion
• Samplers, Sampling & Sample Libraries: Sampler and Sampling discussion (techniques, tips and tricks, etc.)

Since these are Kontakt libraries and since Kontakt is both a virtual instrument and a sampler, this discussion technically fits within either category. Does it really matter?

Back on topic: Would love to hear anyone's new thoughts on these guitar libraries!

What prevents other people — whom I clearly do remember, as they're the ones for whom I previously cited the descriptions of the two forums — from searching for and finding this thread? I found the thread. You found the thread!

Refocusing:

Nearly a year after this thread was started (by someone else), I'm curious if anyone has additional thoughts about these guitar libraries (some of which have been updated — e.g., RealGuitar *4*).

Based upon previous comments, the favorites tend to be (in no particular order):
- Orangetree
- RealGuitar (was v3, now v4)

How do they compare with:
- Indiginus (which has some amazing demos)

Less-frequently mentioned:
- Efimov
- Pettinhouse

Any new thoughts, regarding (a) the most convincing sound and especially (b) ease of programming?

I see that now. However, since you are the one that decided to dredge this one up from last year, it still would be in your best interest to simply start a new one in the appropriate forum and let this one simply fade away (at least until someone else dredges it up as something current).

No, it would NOT be in my "best interest" to start a new thread, since my very reason for posting in this thread was to see if the very guys who'd posted here last year had, in the time since then, upgraded their instruments and formed any new opinions!

That's why it's called a thread — because it allows us to have conversations with continuity. It's decidedly NOT in my best interest to start a new thread — in another sub-forum, no less — and then hope that the guys who commented here just happen to find that new thread in another location!

Why is everyone here so angry and confrontational? I found this thread on guitar libraries very helpful, and I simply wanted to see if any of these guys had updated to the latest versions (e.g. RealGuitar 4) and if doing so had altered the opinions they'd shared, last year. (Of course new people would be welcome to chime in, as well.)

But instead of helpful replies, first I get yelled at by someone who doesn't think this thread (which I didn't start) is in the correct sub-forum, and now I'm being criticized for "dredging up" a previous thread, as if that were some sort of crime.

Most efficient use of time would be to go to youtube and also devs websites and watch as many tutorials and reviews on each instrument you want to know about and compare them yourself? Why take the opinion of someone you do not know to base your buying decisions?
