Almost all soundset sellers use Soundcloud for advertising demos. Very few give any alternatives.

It's very important for buyer to have some idea what the soundset is about; one must hear the demo to make purchase decisions.

Now, something is wrong with Soundcloud.

For some reason I can't connect to soundcloud.com at all from my home machines. I can actually connect to soundcloud.com with my phone, but via phone I can't register and ask help from Soundcloud help crew. I have no account in Soundcloud yet.

My situation is similar.

I don't know what my situation is, actually. We have several PCs, OSes and browsers in use in our home. Nothing can connect to soundcloud.com. However, everything else is working fine. Bandcamp works. YouTube works. KVR works...

I was trying to decide if I want to purchase some soundsets. In this situation, my only solution is wait and see what happens.

Since this is not Soundcloud help forum, I can't expect help; all I can hope for is that soundset sellers arrange alternatives for listening...

Not that it helps your situation atm but my sc is working ok here. Firefox, Windows 7.

Soundcloud worked earlier for me too (for a long time!). I have tried updated Chromes and Firefoxes on several PCs with different OSes, it's not a browser problem. It feels like I'm blocked somehow, but that's crazy; I'm not even Soundcloud member, I can't have done anything against their rules, can I? Unless they have categorically blocked my IP provider, but that feels funny, it's one of the largest in my country. (My phone uses different company though, so that would be a possibility.)

YouTube is very good option for alternative to Soundcloud, though. I wish the sellers notice that.

Sounds like it's your home network/ISP. If you connect the phone through wifi, does it still work? Also you can try to change your dns in the router to googles, IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 instead of your isp

I am quite sure it's not DNS problem; all machines can solve correct IP for Soundcloud. Even if I put Soundcloud IP to browsers' address line, the site doesn't open (it'll still timeout). Also, in beginning I suspected DNS problems so I tested large set of IPs around the world (which were not cached). Only one not working is Soundcloud.

No, Soundcloud is not down, I can see it via phone. (Checked your link for statistics though...)

Also, if there's a problem in my region, it's quite strange one, if it only has an effect to a site in another region, no?

From your screen name, I gather you're from Finland and if that's the case then for what it's worth, Soundcloud is working fine on DNA. Perhaps ask your ISP if it continues for long? Sonera's service announcements say they're working on connections in both the Turku area, in Helsinki's Hakaniemi and all sorts of other places, so if you're from somewhere around those places ..

well if it didnt say it was down for you...its not. but to answer your other questions...no thats not strange at all, and your phone could connect via the data plan, is it connecting through your own home wifi?

if your phone is connecting through your home wifi...then thats not the problem. seems odd that none of your computers would connect but the phone will....certainly doesnt sound like an issue on soundclouds side though.

well...then it def. sounds like the problem is with your equipment, or your isp...my bet is on the equipment.

have you called your isp tech support?

It fixed itself, it seems. No explanation anywhere, the system hasn't changed after yesterday's tests. Either my ISP changed something or...

Myself, I accuse gremlins.
