You can even rewire Notion/Progression into Bitwig with this VST:

They then run in sync to BWS and you get their output from the VST.

Thanks xbitz and Tom for the useful information. I'm looking for the update. The notes tools are getting great in Bitwig

The ReWire VST is very nice solution. I have the demo and it is working great with Bitwig. I think I'll buy it very soon. Oh, and I even ReWired Live 9 Intro as slave to Bitwig

Strange to see the two side by side working in harmony

Anyway, back to the ReWire utility. I don't know. I'm not seeing that useful really. Maybe I missed something, but Notion (or any score editor with ReWire) can't be useful for me. There is no interaction between Notion and other Rewire programs (it is not the fault of Bitwig here, it is just the way ReWire is working). The main thing (for me) is to able to open a midi clip in a score editor, then edit it, then it is updated also in the clip.
I think a native score editor is better than ReWire with Notion.

Anyway I thought of Reaper Rewired to Bitwig, so I can have the benefit of Drums maps for Spark. Just a thought. But then, I found it easier just to load Spark and click the keys in Bitwig midi editor and I can see it highlighted in Spark (which has all the names of the kit in the sequencer section, as in the pic down). There is also no reason to load Ableton Live (I don't see a benefit of that either). Now, Reason is a nice addition if I buy it again and Rewire it to Bitwig (by energy-XT tool). The thing is "do I need Reason"? Hmmmm, I really don't think so. I already have all the synths/drums I need and Bitwig is more than enough for my modulation needs!

So, Bitwig is very economical as well! I mean if I had it before I buy any synth or instrument, then I would not need about the half of them! I can't say it is perfect in its instruments, but they are good. I prefer the drums of Spark, but I could have also a good use of Drum Machines as well. FM4 is more than enough for my FM needs, but I also have FM in Dune 2 and Bazille. Polysynth is a fantastic synth really. I like it much more than Analog in Ableton Live. So, for a start, I see Bitwig is incredible value for money. You just add few tools and you are done (and might still cheaper than Live Suite).

Ok, enough talking! Let's make some bits and have fun with this wig

I don't think I need VST3 really.
Does Retrologue 2 comes only with VST3? I don't know. I have Retrologue 1 and it has VST2, so I'm using that. u-he is also suggesting to use VST2 rather than VST3 (for ACE).

Am I missing something if I don't use VST3?

all of them have VST2 versions(GrooveAgent too), just I don't have too many installed VST3 devices, but was curious how this wrapper thing is working (quite well)
