I installed some plugins that made S1 hang forever on the start up page. I've UNINSTALLED those plugins but for some reason, S1 INSISTS on seeing them upon startup. The opening startup page gets to those plugins and then it gives me yellow exclamation points for all of them saying this plugin ignored because it crashed before etc. and then S1 starts hanging again on that startup screen.

I have deleted EVERY Presonus/Studio One folder that I can find. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled S1 at least four times now.

S1 does not care. Every time I launch it, the startup page STILL shows those bad plugins, and then stalls on them.

HOW can I do a FRESH install of S1 where it no longer sees/finds those old UNINSTALLED plugins. I don't understand how S1 is even seeing plugins that have been completely uninstalled, much less hanging because of them?

I'm with UltraJV on the registry part. But if you don't know what you're doing in there or if you are uncomfortable, leave it alone! Can't be more emphatic about this.

Instead of just going for it, read up on how to work inside the registry. That link I gave has a bit of advice in it.

Before you attempt any changes in the registry, do a back up first.

When it comes about uninstalling and removing everything abut a program, nothing will beat Revo Uninstaller.

Offtopic, but, what exactly does Revo Uninstaller, or other similar programs, do different to the Windows, or the programs' uninstallers? I tried to uninstall a program with it once which i couldn't uninstall with the Windows uninstaller, and couldn't uninstall it with that either. Considering that the information about installed files, and all that, is usually stored and used in the uninstall information, i wonder what those programs "magically" do other than the onboard programs. And i also wonder, if they do something else than those, if they can't do any harm to the system when removing files they should not remove, like all those computer tuning utilities, which, if you don't pay attenetion, can mess up your system pretty much with the wrong settings.

well windows uninstaller only removes the stuff that the uninstaller sofware (which was programmed by the company who created the programm) tells it to do. Revo does that and after that also scans the computer for other possible folders which also removes them and then also scans the registry and removes any registry entries related to the programm to. The first step though its to run the original uninstaller. In chk071 case it didnt work cause it can't just magically fix a broken unistallation programm.

Ok, but how does it detect the respective folders and registry keys though? And further, doesn't that lead to potentially falsely removed stuff?

well I dont know the workings behind it exactly, I guess there must be algorithms and also I guess you confirm which folders it would delete. but anyway, not a programmer here! Just explained what it is exactly per your question and why it wouldnt work in your case.

Well, Revo Uninstaller doesn't just work with the standard uninstall information of a program.

It also lets you target the program's directory and then uninstalls all the program's components.

Revo Uninstaller always lets you choose which registry keys and directories you remove.

You don't have to worry about damaging your system. It has plenty of safeguards built in (backup registry, system restore points, etc.)

I have the 'Pro' version and thinks it's a great program. (And the free version is fully functional too.)
