It is so new that it hasn't actually been released yet, but they played it on an internet radio program yesterday that featured many tracks related to Zappa. I'm also working on a couple other tracks for Z.E.R.O. as well. They will be on a CD eventually, maybe not until the summer.
Internet radio station played song I worked on (with Ike Willis on vocals)

It's so cool, I was able to do the drum programming for a song that has Ike Willis (of Zappa fame) on the vocals. I used Addictive Drums, and it turned out pretty well.

Thanks! I am not sure if he (Kevin from Z.E.R.O. and Pojama People) will post it to Soundcloud as it will be a commercial CD, but who knows. The one I am working on right now for him is pretty complex. Lots of time signature changes and fills to take care of. It's taking me a while to get through it.Gonga wrote:I always liked your stuff Rob...now I better understand...you're a Zappafan![]()

any chance of hearing even a 30 sec sample?? I too love Zappa and also Ike Willis's voice..
Well done (is it Ike on The illinois Enema Bandit? If so I've heard him live once with Dweezil.)

I am not sure, but I can ask about that for you. =) It is more like a spoken word part, not like regular singing. He still sings and plays guitar with the Pojama People and others.tony Smyth wrote:any chance of hearing even a 30 sec sample?? I too love Zappa and also Ike Willis's voice..

The Bandit song was Ray White on the original version. Ike is well known as Joe from Joe's Garage, but he was on Tinsletown Rebellion, You Are What You Is, Drowning Witch, Man From Utopia, Them or Us, Thingfish, and other live releases, such as The Best Band You Never Heard in Your Life.

I finished the 3rd (and final) song that I was asked to create a drum track on. This one has many time changes, and was able to do 'nearly' anything I wanted with the drums. That was a tough one as it was a lot of editing here and there to get it to sound realistic, had to navigate the odd time signatures, and there were many patterns/fills I created.
Anyway after I sent over the 24-bit WAV they said it was perfect...whew!
I guess it really was worth the extra effort.
