Shortcuts: What's "Global"?

Hi all,

in the list of shortcuts, there's a "Global"-switch next to each of the customizable shortcuts:

What's the function of that, please?

If a shortcut is 'global' it works from everywhere regardless which view is in focus. When 'global' is not highlighted, the shortcut works only for the given keyboard focus, e.g. when the track header is in focus in this case.
