Anyone try these out?
Maybe they aren't so great for music production, but I still think this technology is pretty neat. It uses something called bone conduction, which basically transmits the audio through your bones.

I'm interested in this mostly for running, because it will let me hear while I"m running so i can avoid cars and what not.

This idea isn't new. The Bone Fone dates back to the early 80s, I believe. And no, it wasn't the 1st of April back then, either

Doesn't seem to have been a huge success, considering hardly anyone ever heard of it, and now they market it as a revolutionary new idea... seriously this sounds like, pretty much, bogus. How is this supposed to transmit proper sound waves? And the ear drum doesn't "convert sound waves to vibrations" either. It vibrates, and the vibrations are being transferred to the inner ear. Seriously, if they don't even get simple facts right, how am i supposed to believe in some weird esoteric, new "revolutionary" technique to transmit sound. Beethoven didn't hear with his jaw either, he had a long musical history, which gave him the experience to do what he did, even being deaf (deafness isn't absolute either in most cases anyway).

I love deep sea diving while listening to Django!
Is there really any other way?

I looked into this tech a while back, and concluded it was not worth it
My interest was for swimming, and they are no good for that
With regard to general use, sport etc, it would depend on how important sound quality is for you

Popular among swimmers. Doing 80 laps gets pretty boring with only your interior monologue to entertain yourself, so even mediocre sound is a huge plus.

Never used them myself, though. I used earbuds until first the earbuds, then the mp3-player stopped working aftter about 1 1/2-2 years. Looks as if it's difficult to produce good enough quality at a low enough price.
I don't think bone-conduction is a good idea for running. Just get decent earbuds and be prepared to change them every year or two.

Finis seem to be really unreliable, and have poor customer service
The other reason I stopped looking into the bone-conduction thing for the pool is that there is a huge difference in conductivity depending on whether your head is submerged, or above water. This affects both sound quality, and volume. So, any stroke that has you lifting your head above water rhythmically e.g breast-stroke, is going to be a really annoying experience
The audioflood guys give a 2-year warranty, and have excellent customer service (They called me from the states, to my mobile, to answer some questions. And when the earphones I received were faulty, they sent me out 2 sets, free of charge, and didn't need me to send back the other pair
Of course, that is a little OT for this thread
I will agree on the earbuds route. I use sennheisers, and think they are pretty good. Bass is lacking, of course, because you don't get the iem seal
