The experience with Vertigo from 3.x to 3.6 via 3.5 was that the upgrade price is cumulative. It was €19 for 3.5, then another €5 for 3.6, or you can do it in one hit, which I gather is €24 or so.Aloysius wrote:I have no intention of purchasing this version. Out of curiosity, when the next version 'drops', will that make me ineligible to upgrade?

OK. Thanks. I've had so much stuff disappear from my account over the years, it's hard to know what's what.

Because each of us have filenames watermarked and prepared just for us it might not be a "no-brainer" to add and remove files from the website for download.
When a new version drops it might be outside of his means to make it not available to those who choose not to buy it. I experienced this with the Vertigo update.
He has encouraged everyone needing the update or older files to simply contact him. He might have to manually put it together.
Just trying to give a benefit of the doubt so don't quote me on any of the above.
Makes sense, but then I still want to stress one thing:
In future George should inform his customers well before the old versions are removed!!!
I sincerely hope George takes note ... . .

I was owning Discovery 3, but now I can't re download it in my new machine. I contacted support and I was told that is EOL and I need to pay to upgrade to Discovery 4.thejonsolo wrote:The fact that George tells us to contact him if we need past products implies, at least in my mind, that his website could be automated to some degree. I don't want to update, I want the product I own, and that pisses me off. Is like having an expiration date or something...
I am all into it supporting small devs than megacorps, but I won't for this specific case.
I will not upgrade, EVER.

With the complete lack of clarification from George in this thread. He won't receive another penny from me. Not being given access to the product we bought is obnoxious.Nimrod7 wrote:I was owning Discovery 3, but now I can't re download it in my new machine. Well, I upgraded, since I'm working on a sound library right now, and imagine my surprise when, after I pay, I go to the download area to find that I have to wait 24 hours.
WTF?
Really? In this day and age I can't get an instant download of a product that I just bought?
SMH.

He'll probably add a charge for an 'instant product download'. It wouldn't surprise me at this point.

The 24 hour is the maximum time frame. It usually takes less than 30 min or less. And it's stated before payment.wagtunes wrote:Well, I upgraded, since I'm working on a sound library right now, and imagine my surprise when, after I pay, I go to the download area to find that I have to wait 24 hours.
Yes, they are banks 46 to 61. All of them have been reworked and revised for full Discovery Pro 6.5 compatibility. It was a ton of work because some of them had really inconvenient custom waveforms, etc.jasco wrote:George wrote: Hi George, do you have any further information on these 15 new banks?

Which exactly? I can see at least two here. It's been a while since we've had a dev self-destruct his own business on KVR
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.
