Hi,
I'm new to Reaper, just bought it and apparently cannot post on Cockos's forums yet. So I wonder if someone here could help me out. I have an Arp (Chthulhu) followed by a synth on a track and would like to bounce the output of the arp to Midi notes. In other words, I want to bounce midi->midi, not midi->audio.
Does anybody happen to know how to do this?

Temporarily disable the Synth.
Set the Recording Mode for the track to "Record Output : MIDI" (right-click the RecArm button for the choices)
Click Record and off you go.

If it's the midi input from keyboard and out from cthulhu you want to record at the same time, you can for example make 3 tracks. First one recording only the midi input and then put cthulhu on track 2 and press the send/receive on that one to receive the midi from track 1.
Right click on Arm recording and go to record output and find midi on the bottom of one of those menues.
Put the synth you want to record on track 3 and make it receive midi from track 2.
BTW, on the menu for Send/receive, there is choices for receiving audio and/or midi. Turn of audio and leave midi on.
I guess you want to hear the synths output while recording the midi. The problem with putting both cthulhu and the synth on the same track, is that the synth could stop the midi messages. So by doing it like this you can record everything at once. There's probably other ways of doing this, but this is the way I do it mostly.

RIght click the MIDI item and "Apply track/take FX to items as new take (MIDI output)".
