Demoed Black Hole in 2012, never bought it, but this discount offer was too tempting, here is a little impro, Iris meets Black Hole, live on video.

I still could use a reverb with fast live changes or automations of parameter.
Is it the right tool?
It's one of the few you can really do that with.
I also picked up Blackhole, was initially surprised at the stock presets (not great).

Got the "Extraordinary Spaces" presets...

Much better now.

This thing is capable of some WOW.

Is it the same Black Hole I have in my Eventide H9? I like that a lot.

Shill! Just kidding : )

Checking out this preset bank now - sounds great. Love that 'Ghost Vocal' especially. Plenty of pre-delay and diffusion. If it was a fiver i'd be in. Would be difficult to justify $20 presets for a $40 plugin once the preset sale ends.

Actually, I got them half price so only $9 something.
BUT, they are well worth the regular price as they take advantage of all the Blackhole whistles and bells.
As mentioned, the factory presets are, well, fair.

I think the half price deal ends in a few days, good deal, super programming.

Yes I must say Extraordinary Spaces does add to and really show off what Blackhole is capable of.
Well worth the money in my opinion

Very cool video!! Well done!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading in a post that when you demoed Blackhole, at the time you didn't buy it because either B2 or Shimmer (or both?) could get you similar results. Do you still feel this way or does Blackhole offer something unique to the table?
My progressive rock band - free demos here!! (and if you do listen please let me know what you think!) http://www.aeonsatori.com/news/free-downloads

BlackHole has this real time control-morphing-slider, the only thing you can automate in B2 (which I absolutely adore) is the dry/wet slider, everything else produces crackling artifacts, same goes for Aether and some of the parameters in the Valhalla verbs. I only use Shimmer these days for producing octave down drones, for everything else I find better/more interesting alternatives, mainly by combining several things in an FX chain or sending things from Bus to Bus to Bus and back again. So for real time reverb morphs Black Hole just joined the family.

I found the almost 4 year old comparison experiment between Shimmer and BH on my Soundcloud:

At $200... it's hard to recommend when you can get 4 Valhalla's for that price. But at $43-ish this is really incredible value. Eventide know their stuff and I think Blackhole offers serious quality - it's beautiful, lush, spacious, lively and so 3D sounding.

At this price it's totally worth it. VintageVerb will no longer be my only goto now.

Thanks TEKing66,

Here is a video walk-through of some of the presets and some tricks on usage.

Extraordinary Spaces is being used on the solo guitar, lots of presets are heard individually.

The morph feature are programmed on many of the presets and the freeze function is shown live.
