It's an arpeggio device or software i don't know but it looks advanced one. I am using Cubase 8 but i am not happy with the on board arpeggio (arpache 5 and sx)
Any idea what he is using? I set the video exactly that arpeggio starts

In Cubase try:
The StepDesigner - a (simple) sequencer. It is a midi-insert-effect.
Or the midi-editor of cubase (open with double-click on a midi-event).

No idea google doesn't help. He uses Ableton Live 9 but that sequencer is not in it. I use Ableton Live's Max4Live Mono Sequencer but if I want more options I use Kirnu Cream.

It's a specially designed and programmed sequencer software, especially made for him, by one of his friends at the Conservatoire de Paris. It uses a touch screen for programming and is quite extensive in functionality.
Some years ago he was looking to move from using a hardware sequencer, (which was also custom designed for him by Michel Geiss), and he talked to some developers.
He ended up going with someone he knew.
Search for Matrisequencer and Digisequencer. The former is what gave you Equinoxe and Magnetic Fields and a few other albums after those. The Digisequencer came around the time he was doing Chronologie, it was designed for that album and he used it up until around 2008/2009.
There's a fascinating talk on Youtube, with genius Michel Geiss as he demonstrates the Matrisequencer, it's in French.

I will check Kirnu Cream. I am obsessed by Jean Michel Jarre. I know he uses Ableton and i don't. Only because external midi preset- patch list full with numbers. Other daws we can see preset names. Otherwise for the Jarre's sake i would be use Ableton.Jax Pok wrote:I use Ableton Live's Max4Live Mono Sequencer but if I want more options I use Kirnu Cream.
Thanks for the Kirnu Cream input. I didn't know this midi plug in.
I have tried stepdesigner before and I've found this is not the one i am looking for. If you know Reason Matrix sequencer, i found more successful then the cubase stepdesigner. But it's small, octave up and down you need to click.Klinke1 wrote: In Cubase try:

So this explains everything. There is no such advanced arpeggio developed yet. And he is uses custom made one. I will search for Michel Geiss Matrisequencer, i maybe see something interesting. Thank you very much for these informationsHunterKiller wrote:It's a specially designed and programmed sequencer software, especially made for him, by one of his friends at the Conservatoire de Paris. There are quite of few advanced Sequencers, arpeggiators and phraze creators both on Mac and PC. And there is new modular sequencer environment coming out soon, by Loomer. Be sure to watch that.
What you were looking at there in the video was a sequencer, not an arpeggiator.
