Mixbus 3.2 is stable. I ran dozens of tests on three computers (one being a small Windows tablet, one old PC running OSX and Windows 7, and my main DAW computer), and there was not one single crash.

It would be lovely if I could try on my own computers though...

Honestly guys, MixBus is $79 from scratch, $40 to upgrade. The time to check it out thoroughly is a bigger problem than the cost for many people, and that'd be the same if there WAS a demo. Yes the no-demo thing a bit annoying, but most serious alternatives (besides Reaper) are so much more expensive, it's hard to complain too much. I bet you've paid that much for at least one plugin you never use like ever.

Tracktion 7 costs just €60

That is hardly an endorsement for Mixbus 3 :hihi:

Really? So, why don't they release it?

Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Of course, but this isn't a discussion about whether Mixbus is any good, it's about how egregious it is or isn't that there's no demo

OK, but I would rephrase it like this ;)

I bet you've paid that much for at least one plugin you never cease to use.

Ooops. I missed that. Fortunately, there is KVR :)

I really want to believe you. And it's true, 79 bones is pocket-change for a good host, but I've heard many other complain about crashes.

Now, other than sonar, I'm not used to hosts crashing much.

What I should have done is buy it during namm. It was 59 bucks and I think they threw in the "basic" plug pack? Something like that. Anyways, it's encouraging what you say.

What I'd use it for is further audio editing (from reason) and just mixing stems. Can't be "too" demanding, but I'd also like to be able to use the good vst plugs I have.

I haven't tried MB 3.2 yet, but version 3.1 was already very stable. IMHO, they shouldn't have released version 3.0, which was buggy as hell. Starting with 3.1 as the first 3.x release would have saved them lots of trouble.

The only thing that is still annoying me is that you cannot reorder plugins with multiple outputs - something that every other DAW I've tried or own can do without problems. Hopefully this has improved in version 3.2. Since it has become usable, mixing with MB is fun. :phones:

I haven't had a crash in Sonar in 2 years. It's been a rock.
Mixbus 3.2 is also very stable. The only problem I have with it (still) is EZKeys. It will crash with the 64bit version in 64bit Mixbus. I bought it for mixing and mastering, but it's performance has improved to a point that I could track in it for sure.
Two of my favorite features are the monitor channel thing, and the new export analysis tool.
All daws should steal those ideas.
