Wow, this is getting kinda strange.
So many influential musicians have died in the last 2 months.
Make you think....

As sad as it is, from early reports it appears to be suicide...gunshot to the head. He was depressed about losing use of his right hand. No good reason ever to take your own life.

I lost my mom a few days ago from cancer. That at least would have been a more acceptable reason.

This just sucks. Two people who gave me so much music gone days apart.

Real sorry to hear you lost your mom jonsolo. :(
I hope you have people around you who care.
I`m as shocked to hear it may have been a suicide as you are. It`s all very sad.

Dead at age 71, appears to be self inflicted, so very very sad, a true synth pioneer. One of my keyboard heroes. Thank you Keith and we will cherish your legacy.

This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

I got to meet him and talk a bit too.
He even put me on his guest list for that night's show.
Very personable and friendly off stage, even to a music store keyboard salesman.

Much respect, and definitely one of my all-time keyboard heroes as well.

What an amazing, legendary player! One of the true fathers of rock keyboards! I know he had some serious physical issues that affected his playing for the last few decades or so. I guess he felt the time was right to leave.

I saw him (ELP) on the Tarkus and BSS (in quad audio!) tours, and was so impressed both times - with the whole band, and especially Emerson's playing theatrics. Powerful stuff!

I also remember our high school era Top 40 cover band (who were all really prog-heads) working up the entire BBS album (except the drum oriented track), but never played any of it anywhere - I don't think we ever intended to - just wanted to prove we could do it. Wow, that was some tough stuff to remember as the many key changes (even returning themes) made it such a challenge. But ELP's version of Copeland's 'Hoedown' was always our opener, and a big fave. Sweet times!

Thanks for all the fish, Keith! Tremendous music and a life of inspiration!

Now I have to throw on some old vinyl and remember all the greatness he brought us! RIP
