Fits like a glove until you put any FX rack on...thejonsolo wrote:My guess is that this will not happen as Nektar Panorama fits like a glove (as good as Maschine or Push) to Reason, and Props have spent time and money to make sure it works together perfectly.Numanoid wrote:I think Reason 9 will be launched with a hardware controller keyboard, to make a software/hardware hybrid ala NI's NKS keyboard and AKAI Advance keyboard
They will not change their formula. All I can see is tightening the code. They have stated many times that there will be no VST support.
They could do with an interface rework, but many love it the way it is. Rewire could also use some servicing to catch it up to date (though it works fine as is). Hard call on what might happen...
UI is workable, though the way they accommodate multiple screen user makes it rather odd. They need to do something about search. Still not global.

Well then, isn't it ironic that that controller comes bundled with Bitwig 8-trackthejonsolo wrote:My guess is that this will not happen as Nektar Panorama fits like a glove

I'd like new synths, and new devices. And in general, a facelift for all devices, with larger fonts, and an overall re-arrangement of the GUI, to make it less busy, and more clear. More options for the built-in effects, so that stuff like building a simple ping-pong delay doesn't require me to do a lot of combining, but rather gives me that kind of basic functionality right in the device... In fact, i would like to see so much in the next version, that it will hardly serve a fraction of that. Think i'll rather stick with VST hosts.

Better MIDI/Audio editing tools (that equal or better Cubase/ProTools).
What I don't want: VST support! Please DON'T do it! I like Reason for two things mainly:
1. Stability!
2. The RE format and design! I like the consistent rack device look of REs and the CV/Audio patching concept.
VST would ruin all that.

Hi Scotty!daw envy wrote:The only hardware Reason might include is an iphone or ipad since that's who they mainly program for now.Numanoid wrote:I think Reason 9 will be launched with a hardware controller keyboard, to make a software/hardware hybrid ala NI's NKS keyboard and AKAI Advance keyboard
Propellerhead's Balance failure took care of any grand ideas of expanding into hardware.
So they're left doing the next best thing, finding another niche in ios and supporting childish collaboration web sites.
Reason is off the radar ever since they torched and burned down their forums, so who knows?

I'm not a Reason user , I did at one time get a used copy of Reason and upgrade to 8 , and give it ago , it was way to busy for me . What I'd like to see in Reason 9 is a reworked Rewire solution , something similar to Jack that's used in Linux , but maybe dumb it down a little I think this would be a great compromise , I could also see Props selling it to non Reason users . ex. For people that like to mix Live/Bitwig/Renoise with a Harrison Mixbuss or Studioone type of DAW .... So basically if you had 25 Tracks in Bitwig you'd hook those 25 Tracks up to Mixbuss's 25 tracks and hit rec .....instead of rendering to stems in Bitwig and importing stems into a new Mixbuss project . So basically make Rewire like Jack on Linux/Mac.

I want emotional people to buy Reason 9 because of the darker GUI and sell it to me for half a price at market place when they get bored of looking at it. Oh seriously I need them to upgrade every instrument and FX inside Reason.

4 posts, registered since yesterday, devotes himself to ranting about one specific DAW. Whose butthurt comeback is it?daw envy wrote:The big question is what they will actually release with the upgrade?
For the last two upgrades they've been less then stellar, offering plug-ins that made mixing easier for beginners. They've also focused on the ios market, again filled with beginners.
They used to release a flagship synthesizer or a collection of plug-ins aimed towards all types of skill levels.
Maybe Propellerhead has realized there's just too many great daws for music production on grown up computers. So their only niche left is the mobile market, kind of like how Image-Line has stalled because of.
You can't take years off production and development on your main product and expect to keep up with the times. You'll be playing catchup instead of being the innovators.
They can't compete with Studio One, Cubase, Protools, Sonar, Logic, Live and Bitwig.

My list is SO LONG, it's not even worth typing.
Most has been mentioned by everyone, except VST support which I do NOT want and hope they never do (unless they hire like an additional 25 people that are really proficient in code and will stop at nothing to troubleshoot compatibility, which won't happen
) so......not really a good thing.
Yet, it's my A#1. At least it works with everything I throw at it

Resample audio stretch, adjustable pitch/stretch a'la FL Studio. Then I never use another app again.
