Was looking for a decent video of Dark Angels but the only one I could find on YouTube is a bit crap

this is one of my faves though - first saw it live at the Huddersfield contemporary music festival many years ago

Max, Harry and Sandy Goehr - 3 become 2.
We almost lost him a few years back to the big C, but during their 80th-year celebrations (I actually thought the Proms that year managed the impossible and topped their Wagner bicentennial season) he and Birtwistle appeared to be in rude health and as feisty as I've ever seen them.
When Boulez passed at 90, even after a couple of years of ill health, it was felt by many as a complete shock.
81 seems like no age at all.
If the good die young, clearly the great never grow old.
Too soon, Max. Too soon.
