i think his short stories are popular to make into films (Minority Report, Total Recall, Paycheck, Screamers) because they allow pretty much free-reign on where the story goes, whereas sticking to a PKD novel can be tricky (look at all the stuff left out of Blade Runner - to be fair a lot of it would have made no sense whatsoever). Still, a faithful "Do Androids Dream..." would be so different to BR that it could be done.

If they do it without the McGee influence, I'd say go for it. The story is way twisted enough without resorting to modern day piercings & crap like that.

I think I've read it, but I know there's an early 70's Genesis song called 'Watcher of the Skies' that I heard was inspired by that, which ties in with your sig...

And I vote for The Thomas Covenent books by Stephen Donaldson, even if there are 9 of them and they are fantasy not sci fi.

Ringworld would be good.

The Time Wars series by Simon Hawke. Possibly not all 12 books, but the first one (Ivanoe Gambit) would make an excellent film.
