I'm wondering if you fellow tranceheads can help me out here..

I've been trying to find this track I heard almost 15 years ago. A friend played it from a compilation CD, but he was Swedish and -sorry to stereotype- like most Swedes I knew back then, he usually preferred to copy his CDs instead of buying them, so he may have had his track information wrong.

He thought it was from a distance to Goa or destination Goa CD, but I must have heard most of them since and nothing sounded like it.

The track was pretty fast trance, I guess you could call it Goa, very much in a minor key with a dramatic, emotional build up. Not your cliche break down and build up, but a constant high energy build throughout the track. He thought it was called something like "journey to earth" or "journey home" or something hung with "mission" in it, or something similar, but again, her may have had his track listing all wrong because it sounded different from the rest of the CD and he may have copied an extra track to an existing compilation cd. The track was probably late 90's.

Any suggestions?

"Luna Eclipse - The Return home" is on the first Distance to Goa compilation, ring any bells?

I checked that CD out before. Not that one unfortunately.
That track is way too happy sounding as well :)

I suspect that the track I'm after was somewhere from 1999 or 2000

I wish I could help, there's nothing harder than trying to describe a dance track without any details. You could try humming or whistling it into a mic but even then your odds of success will increase only slightly. :hihi:
Reminds of a dance tune I heard on the radio around '94, I loved it, it was stuck in my head for days but I never knew what it was called and as result never heard it since. I'm sure it's on youtube somewhere, just a click away but alas...

Goaaway? It's from Destination Goa 2

It's getting closer :) It was certainly that sort of tempo but I remember it to be less typical Goa, which is why I suspect that my mate accidentally copied an extra track to what he thought was a Goa comp.

The thing is, it was the year 2000 when I heard it. Trance of that energy and tempo generally meant you were talking about Goa, but this was more leaning towards trance than Goa. I don't know many other popular compilation series from around that time though.

Listening to some old stuff on YouTube, I think it was more in the sort of 1998 trance style, more hard trance/Goa. I keep browsing YouTube :)

A masterpiece.. ..after all this years.. i love this track!
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Some more, a bit more recent stuff (2004 is somehow the year of top tunes for me):
