Anyway, I thought to check it out and see. Well, the download through Cakewalk Command Center still didn't finish yet (more than 10 hours now!!!), so I downloaded the file by Free Download Manager which took about one hour or so (I think Cakewalk Server is so slow, maybe they sold many copies). I'm still missing some contents which I'm trying to get through Cakewalk Command Center.
In short, I really like it. It seems they have fixed the midi loop recording, so I can see the notes as I record. Still, not perfect because I need to record something first then stop, then overlap recording (Sound on Sound) then I can see the notes recorded. Very useful in Drums recording of course.
In their website they say about Music Creator 7: "Get creative with 32 audio tracks and 8 instrument tracks, and 128 MIDI tracks". But, I could insert 32 instrument tracks! So, it is not limited to 8 instrument tracks as they said! I haven't inserted more, so I don't know if it is even limited!
Because there are no many things, Music Creator looks less crowded than Sonar, although there are big spaces in the control bar when docked to the top or bottom! Very odd that there is no performance indicator! Strange! (I searched but couldn't find any thing about it!).
The performance/stability seem great, although there are some glitches in graphics (like the arrow stayed hanging when I went to mixer view!), but nothing is serious till now, just minor things.
Now, believe it or not, I like this version much more than Sonar Producer X3 that I had, because it is faster to load, with less features and it's much less bloated. Of course I must depend on third party's effects and instruments, but that is OK. Maybe, I like it so much because there are only the necessary features there, so it means less bugs
I have spent $250 to get Sonar X3 producer and I didn't feel satisfied with it. Now I have spent $10 and feel it much better than the flagship product! Although, Bitwig is still my main DAW, but Music Creator 7 is great second one, when I want to do it the good old way. So, for someone wants the best of the budget hosts, I recommend Music Creator 7 (especially with the discount) to check out before spending hundreds on other big brothers, especially if he/she has third party instruments and effects
Back to Cakewalk Command Center, What?! still at 59.76%?!
