I can't attach the file.
What type of file needed?
You must use an external hosting service. KVR can't host files that are too large.

Hello and welcome to the Mix Challenge, dadayance.

Upload spaces that you can use are: GoogleDrive, SoundCloud (which also offers an MP3 stream and WAV download) and DropBox. A MP3 at bar minimum is okay, but take note of the rules regarding providing high quality mixes as well.

Hi all,

Here comes my mix.

MP3: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/717 ... otonic.mp3
WAV: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/717 ... otonic.wav

I used Acon Digital Multiply and U-He Uhbik-P to give the pads and keys some movement and life.
The kick needed some treatment to get rid of the noise and to bring back some transients. Bittersweet v3 from Flux helped here a lot.

Hey, guys!

Here is my mix for 7th Pyriamid's Sonrisa Amplia:

https://soundcloud.com/smartmix/7th-pyr ... thiagoam88

WAV: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_g4B ... 2N4NTZ0dWc
MP3: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_g4B ... lJqWDFHRHc

Quick overview on the process (aside from the usual EQ, Compression and Saturation):

- Console emulation and a smidge of compression on the mix buss;
- I used a phaser on some parts of the bass;
- Stereo enhanced and automated volume on the saw pad;
- Volume/Pan automation on strings, harp and FXs (white noise, chirp...);
- A gentle reverb on most tracks and a medium plate reverb for some instruments to create more width.

Good luck, everyone!

Don't wait too long.
And... make a WAV file possible to download.

My mix (two files in zip): https://www.sendspace.com/file/3oy9cd
I didn't give it enough time and it will show... there is hardly enough effects and stereo. My cpu was coughing also, because I was working at 96khz :dog:
The dynamics didn't get enough attention, but the mix itself was rather difficult because of the frequency balance and especially strange disappearing bass which I think was some EQ on the stem. Also spent some time on the kick that could have been better spent on actually mixing and sound design.
So I tossed it together and I think it sounds good at a loud but not tremendous volume.

Finally finished my mix.

The fundament of the track (kick & bass) was difficult to adjust and if that would have been my own track I would have replaced the kick for sure. Nevertheless, I tried to get it as tight as possible and Plug & Mix Clarisonix helped a lot with the kick (among EQing, monoing the low end and transient shaping).
Other fancy stuff:
The bass got some parallel distortion for more bite and a bit of plate reverb on the highs to give it more space.
The M1 Piano got some PSP Pianoverb to give it more stereo width. I reduced the sustain of the dyno piano as I felt it was cluttering up the mix.
The highs on the saw pad were widened.
In general quite a lot of saturation was applied (mostly softube's saturation knob).

I used a lot of automation to smooth out the transitions and add interest to the arrangement
Yyou can find a screenshot of the arrangement and all automation here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lln8dwinsdhna ... 9.jpg?dl=0

Good luck to everyone!
