I purchased a cool little synth years ago called Adventus. The website is still there but when I tried to contact them via email for a keyfile (hard drive crashed) there was no response.

I think they had a sub-forum here, and there was some weirdness like they started hosting warez.

Checking the website now a couple of years later, the GUI of that has been updated so they seem still to be in the game

But when will Adventus be updated?

I read some time ago that he lost the SynthEdit "source code" on which Adventus is based, and thus can't update it.
Either way, Adventus seems like a toy today

Hardly an excuse, porting it to x64 they still would more or less need to start from scratch
I wouldn't call it a toy, it aint that far behind Firebird soundwise

An excuse for what? Who said he wants to port it to 64bit? I don't think that would make any sense, even if he still had the code. By modern standards it is a pretty crappy synth, sorry to say that.
Firebird is also a toy
I remember trying it, even the basic saw waveform sounded terrible, with some ugly noise.
