Sounds very nice... Very reasonable price considering its sound. But I'm biased against anything retro.

We need to look to the past to see the future
Even if Phonec is sold as the BOC synth, it is lot more versatile than that, the meaty sequencer and sub osc should make it capable to rock any EDM joint

It sounds great... I totally agree the sub will rock anything in the low end. I'm sure you could easily do plenty of genres with it too.Numanoid wrote:We need to look to the past to see the future![]()

I was sure this was going to be another $99 synth. A price that I would have paid.

Yes, it is versatile. I remember doing a punchy DX7-style synth bass in v1, which didn't even have the retrigger button, yet. I wonder what it would sound like in v2, if I had not deleted it. Is it even possible to load old patches into v2?

Modulation section has 6 subpages:
-LFO 1, 2, 3
-HFO
-Envelopes
-Aftertouch
Such a shame that these haven't got their own dedicated window, for tweaking it is so much easier when all controls can be seen at the same time.

Anyway, good job.
I'll consider adjusting the time between dropouts.elxsound wrote:I'd have to agree about the dropouts... They are a bit much and it does make it hard to know if this is something you'll use. If it weren't for all the great demos, I probably would have passed.
I'll fix this in the next update.fluffy_little_something wrote:Am I the only one that can't read the black fonts on dark orange buttons? Maybe it would have been better to invert the font color with red buttons as well, like with those blue tabs of the mod section. If the fonts were in that light beige color of the Phonec panel, contrast would be way better.

It is not. Phonec 2 was rebuilt from scratch, so it's a completely separate plugin from v1.fluffy_little_something wrote:Yes, it is versatile. I wanted an architecture that was basically a Low pass feeding into a Highpass, so I thought it would be redundant to have band/highpass modes on the LPF. I do plan to work with the filter some more, I'm sure there's plenty of room for improvement and I'm open to suggestions.Numanoid wrote:I'm struggling a little to understand that the filter in v2 is not less equipped than in v1, as v1 had 10 filter modes, while v2 only has 4 (plus a choice to select if Linear, Exponential or Inverted Exp), but v2 has also got dedicated knobs for LPF and HPF so I guess that makes it an improvement.
That's where midi controllers come in handyNumanoid wrote:Modulation section has 6 subpages:

Having just taken possession of my shiny new Roli Seaboard RISE 49, I wish that there were more options for modulation routing. I'd like to see a bunch of modulation slots for MIDI CC mappings. Also, having a global adjustment for pitchbend range would be very helpful.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Eeeeee, this aftertouch is so fun to mess with!
Great update, and the upgrade was very much appreciated. I loved the original version, but this one, especially being 64bit, will absolutely find it's way on to upcoming projects of mine!

A heaping dose of outrageously goofy synth tracks, scores and chiptunes.

Well I made the purchase... There's a lot of stuff inside this little box.
It's definitely got a wide sonic pallet - And I'm loving the sub osc for the bass.

Nope, you're not alone. Palette and size probably wouldn't work with 30" monitor i.e. it would be too small i.e. unreadable i.e. untweakable.fluffy_little_something wrote: Am I the only one that can't read the black fonts on dark orange buttons? Few weeks ago in pre-release thread I've asked about GUI changes and the answer was 15 seconds of silence
Murderous duck!
