I also vouch for Dune2! Sounds absolutely awesome.

I only wish for one big feature change though. I have mentioned it on the Synapse forum as well:

"A bigger sized screen allocation for the Mod Matrix.

As it is now, the small window for the mod matrix can be a bit of a pain to navigate with more complex patches that utilize the matrix heavily. I would rather ditch the keyboard graphic at the bottom of the synth and have the Mod Matrix spread out there for better access and overview. Or even keep the keyboard graphics but make that pane switchable so you can chose to have it show the keyboard or mod matrix by default.

There is a great workflow enhancement to be had from this. For us tweakers and sound designers."

It certainly is... I do like Sylenth a lot as well.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

It'd be nice to have some control over the envelope curves. Sometimes it's just a bit too snappy, but I guess that's all part of it's charm

Absolutely mate, the two actually compliment each other very well

Throw Serum in there and you got virtually everything you need. :tu:

Yes it does, very cool synth.

Great to see Dune 2 leading the poll.
Lennar had a flagship with Sylenth and was ahead of the game by many years - but for whatever reason he let Sylenth stagnate, meanwhile Rich from Synapse kept his head down - worked hard and coded a first class Synth. Uhe also coded a quick Sylenth killer that imo fell a wee bit short of its target. lol
but it just go to show we like developer effort.
Props to Lennar though - obviously a very talented coder who perhaps didn't love his own creation?

Lennar is probably still cleaning up by way of the amount of Presets available and by the fact that Sylenth is still legendary and ends up in a lot of current producers tracks. :)

Why is it that U-he's oh so great Sylenth killer is for sale much more often then Sylenth?

It doesn't have to mean much. Studio One was sold a lot here for example, after they released version 3. Impulse buys -> market place items. I wouldn't want to judge the product going by that though. Sylenth1 is pretty old now, so there's not much of a potential for an impulse buy anymore, just because it's new and shiny.

Hive isn't new anymore, either. So, I doubt that is the reason...

I do wish Sylenth had Dune's or Hive's reverb, but other than that I still prefer Sylenth's sound. When used with an external reverb, Sylenth has the most pleasant, classic and even funkiest sound of the three -- to me, that is :)

Dune is certainly more complex and allows for more exotic and elaborate sounds, but since I am interested in conventional sounds, I don't miss those possibilities. They would only steal my time and make operation less intuitive and efficient.

Exactly. So, why is there even a poll between two completely different synths?
Granted it does date back to 2014.

Who resurrected this corpse anyway? You sick bastard you. 8)

Not sure. You'd have to ask the new owner. :P

I rarely use harsh sounds, but Sylenth can sound nasty, like on this little synth lion's roar I made today :hihi:
