I checked with Songwriter's Tools and all but one (Guitar Acoustic Basic) presets have both knobs active, so that's a healthy sign.

No, not yet. Could be my next one but I only have two serials left. Given its post-EZmix2 launch date it should be one of the newer ones.
The Mix Toolbox appears to have some very interesting presets, including two de-essers, a B3 organ bus preset, a piano comp, the aforementioned cello preset, and one cunningly called Mud Be Gone

BTW, the original EZmix had two sliders to change the sound (Shape and Blend) with changing functions depending on the presets.
But if you check the 200 or so EZmix1 presets in EZmix2 you'll see that 80 or more of them may only be adjusted by one EZmix2 dial, not both.

I picked up the Amps EZMix and Classic Amps pack from the Marketplace recently. I was honestly tipped off to using EZMix for guitars from Kenny Gioia of all people (who most know from his Groove 3 videos) who touted it on a Facebook post.

I was really pleased with the Amps pack. There are some clearly named for songs ("Honey or Nothing"), but they're useful in other contexts. I didn't like the Classic Amps as much, but I tried it second and my ears get weary after a while.

I do own Amplitube 4 and Guitar Rig, but I find the EZMix guitar presets are great to have for a quick, good sound.

I'm thinking of buying a choose your own 6 pack. Anyone interested in splitting it half and half or 4 to 2?

The same impression I have when I listen to the demos on the website; Amps sounds better than Classic Amps to me.
What other packs are you interested into?

Ambient, Indie Guitars, and Bass are probably at the top of my list now. I'm also checking out one of the metal packs. I don't do "metal" but I like some good hard rock guitar sounds.

For that I'd check out Andy Sneap and Guitar Gods #1 expansion packs. The other metal packs sound too much high gain and geared more towards extreme subgenres.

Since you got me interested in Nectar 2 I wanted to try it, so I downloaded their 10 days trial. I was also curious about its presets accurately stored by genres and I compared them to a bunch of similar EzMix Lead Vocals pack presets and other vocals presets.
Well, I was sure I was going to find the former better since the iZotope plugin itself has a lot more, but I prefer the sound of the EzMix packs instead.
It's like they give more mojo, more character, also well polished sound.. while Nectar being quite as good but not as satisfying.
I'm sure it can do way better than its own presets though, since it's totally tweakable. I liked its EQ very much.

Just to add some comments, I've tried Amps, Classic Amps and Indie Guitars, I'm sure that some will argue that their Fractal/Kemper sound infinitely much better, and I would probably agree.....but for this price, some of the presets sound really, really good....yes I know that the "harmonic distortion", the "dinamic response" and so, but they fit really well in the mix and some of them are much more usable that other more expensive amp sims in the market. What's the technology behind? IR impulses,algorithmic....?

They use impulse responses for the guitar cabs.
