Not entirely sure what fantasy land some of these people live in, I use WIndows Linux and OSX, and there is no damn way that any is any better than any of the others overall, if you have convinced yourself of that it is because you are completely blinkered and have literally no idea what you are talking about, this idea that OSX is sooooo much better than Windows is so laughable it is unbelievable.

My personal gripes are with Windows, not with how well or badly certain audio software is supposed to run on it. I doubt there's any real difference at all between the two. I just very much dislike Windows.

No virus here too since 2008 Theo. I use Nod Antivir and only online with my DAW on secure sites when needed to download music software related stuff like updates.

Try to keep in mind that your mac isnt infallible, it may just help you notice if you get infected.

That Mac has been spared so far is solely because no one is using Mac except some annoying hipsters and people with too much money who want to show off. It has nothing to do with architectural security (eg that Macs are inherently more secure) but a simple cost-benefits analysis shows that it's just better to develop malware for a platform the majority is using (eg PC/Windows).

And yes, there's been a steady increase of malware for Mac in recent years so anti-virus is a must even on a Mac.

The best Mac is a BigMac...but seriously, I must admit that Mac has been great and is great for Picture and photo editing. It is a favourite among architects and people working with any kind of design. But Mac did not have that kind of success in the Music business. They tried and are still trying. Logic is good, no doubt but Apple are trying to buy their way in. Look at Camel Audio and Alchemy for example. It's not their own coding and some times I wonder if Apple really have their heart in the Music business. I know millions of people will disagree (..and especially all Apple fanboys) but it's a fact that Apple and Mac is not the best choice for Music making, at least not yet. I Believe that's why many some companies did not develop the plugins for OSX/AU. Many also develop for Windows first because it's a bigger market, and I guess Image Line is a good example of that.

I have, and can't say I dissapprove. Nothing surprising there really as Apple fanboys do seem to make a rather coherent social formation, and belong to either one or both of the groups mentioned above. Mac users just are so attackable.
It's also quite logical as objectively there's very few reasonable arguments to be made for preferring expensive Apple products to PC. Most of the arguments and myths still put forward today are from the 1990's when there indeed was some truth to them. So as Apple fanboys behaviour seems irrational they deserve to be made fun of. After all, you would not start to argue with a Mormon or Jehowa's witness about whose Bible is better, nope, you make fun of them.

Now it's not, once it was actually, if anything, you can speak about how Mac's are past their prime now with growing generations of mostly EDM bedroom hobbyist's, but saying Mac's are irrelevant in music industry is just mind blowing
