You could use 'Saiko' (by Arguru) as a jumping off point though. If you can find it. Instant goa trance generator.

i have also downloaded saiko - while it produces nice beats etc, its of limited value if it cant export to midi so one can use it to trigger synths etc. Anyone know of an alternative?

I'm not trying to take the piss, but if you can't be arsed to write it yourself, why bother writing it at all? Maybe you need a break from trance.JFM wrote:I compose Trance music, but of late have been totally devoid of inspiration. Does anyone know of software which auto composes music or sequences to help in this time of need?

1st - Find a classical, blues or jazz song in MIDI format.
2nd - Listen to the song and think "If this were trance, how would it sound?"
3rd - Assign various trance sounds to the channels and experiment with tempo until the song sounds decent.
4th - Prey that the ghost of the original composers do not come for you.

There was a very interesting SE synth called "Wheel of Fortune" I believe, that generated a lead and bassline. Really pretty catchy and easy to use. Sorry, no link.
TConrardy, if I am not mistaken, recommended it.

OMG!!!WTF!!!! USE VIRUS LOL!!!!!!
I thought that this topic would be a joke, but noooo It´s a serious post
Why would anyone want a prog to write music automatically.
It´s much easier to make money with a 9-5 than pumping out crappy E-jayish tunes and hoping for a MTV spot.
sad really.
