Yes, and you can install it on two computers simultaneously. The install process is detailed in StiX manual btwsomeone called simon wrote:thanks people, looks like iLok is the way to go for me.

Just having fun programming my own kick sounds.
I noticed that when sometimes I switch the Osc type from SINE to MOSC I get a very loud pop/click sound. It's hard to reproduce it...
I use StiX 0.9.9a on MacOS 10.9.5 when it happens.
Is it correct that when I want to save my drumpad sound I have to switch to EASY? Or is there a way to say it in the ADVANCED section?

A feature that would be also very nice to have: Buttons up/down in the info pop up, where the user can edit multiple information. With the up/down the user can stay in this window, switch thru his sounds and edit and save them. Without closing, then loading the drumpad sound and open the info pop up again. Can be very tedious if you want to change a lot of sounds.
BTW: Where are those different kinds of presets saved? Is it possible to alter them afterwards, values like author, type, etc.?

The random pop sound trouble have been fixed since a few betas. I think the current public RC version has got rid of it, but anyway, it will be gone with the V1.0.stardustmedia wrote:Just having fun programming my own kick sounds.

Yes you have to be on the Eazy synthesis page to save a drumpad presets. ( but the Global Preset 'save' function is always visible, so you might use that to save temp versions of all the various presets types until the definitive ones)

You can edit all values of any type of preset precisely by using the 'info' menu item of each list.stardustmedia wrote:A feature that would be also very nice to have: Buttons up/down in the info pop up, where the user can edit multiple information. Just change values, then validate with the 'save' button, located at the bottom of the pop up 'info' box, or 'Save as' if you want to keep also the original preset . I'm not sure I understand the rest of your post. The presets are stored in the directory where you have installed StiX.

Is the demo license different? I put that right on my hd.Lotuzia wrote:Unfortunately this solution is only for few softwares, like Cubase iirc. I'm really enjoying the sounds/kits and sequences I'm getting from this. The smart randomiser comes up with some great sounds which I'm surprised to find. Randomising in other instruments tend to usually be more hit and miss.

Hi MasterHiggins, Well, it depends on the Demo Version you choose I think. There are two possibilities. Iirc :masterhiggins wrote:Is the demo license different? 1/ The non time limited demo version (w/ restricted features) doesnt require a dongle, and no specific drivers like Pace drivers. It's totally dongle less.
2/ The Time Restricted, but fully functional, Demo Version ( Will last two months) requires the same conditions than the full version to run : Ilok Soft Protection ( no dongle, similar to NI C/R protection for example, possible to install on two computers), Ilok 1/2 Dongle, or eLicencer Dongle.

The Beta Campaign 50% discount will last a few days. But StiX v1.0 should be released very soon. It's just that we think it seems fair that people reading the Xils newsletter have a few days and a last opportunity to get StiX with the biggest discount. So all this will be announced in the next neweletter in the next couple of days.

Midi Out : StiX can send Midi Out data, you have however to press the 'record' button located at the left of the virtual keyboard ( and activate record on your daw of course)
Randomizer : yes, it's ..... Smart
And, finally, Number of beats per bar can be changed/defined in the 'pattern area'.

Thanks Lotuzia, I only found out about StiX this morning and I'm really impressed especially with the ability of midi out, I'm certainly going to buy it. The polyrhythmic type sequencer is very creative and usually I have to mess around with layering different sequencers to achieve the same results. Thanks again.

Yes, they had one of the early beta so it would probably be 7 on 6 nowNumanoid wrote:Stix get reviewed in Beat Magazine no 124 (p. 63)

More seriously, the reviewer made some confusions in some areas : He counts 8 drumpads in StiX
But, in the end, he's right, even with the version he had, his conclusion is :
' Unter dem nüchternen Äußeren verbirgt sich ein wahres Soundmonster, welches das ABC der Drum-Synthese mit links beherrscht ..... ...... Wer sich von der auf den ersten Blick komplexen Oberfläche nicht abschrecken lässt, wird nach kurzer Zeit Halleluja schreien und wochenlang neue Beats basteln. Top! '
