or fortunately, as Terry Pratchett apparently has first refusal on any script he would find stupid. Word is that Warner Brothers has the rights to do Mort, but they want to do something stupid like change the entire plot - the last time, a producer said "Terry, I love you, but we've just gotta get rid of that Death angle"...

I saw the Soul Music mini-series on PBS a few years ago - bad animation, but good plot and voice work. And the soundtrack - which included songs by The Band With Rocks In as mentioned in the novel - smoked! I'd LOVE to get my hands on the accompanying soundtrack CD, I know it exists....
Yes, I'd like that too. I'm reading Hogfather right now and it'd make a great Christmas movie. Probably :hihi:

There's been some great ideas here;the Ringworld one would be cool,The Stars my Destination would just rule(Gully Foyle, where are you?),and a Stainless Steel Rat movie would be the hit of the summer.
Some more-Bill the Galactic Hero(as long as we're on Harry Harrison),Radix(AA Attanasio's first book-if you've never read it,do so.You'll thank me  )and Camp Concentration(maybe my favorite Philip Dick book).
Fantasy?One of David Eddings' series...

From the Urban Dictionary:

nail - verb. to penetrate with penis
cracker - noun. slang word used to refer to those of European ancestry

He's been trying to get with a white chick for a while, has he?

I don't read a lot of Science Fiction but the books that were suggested to me were so good I would love to see a movie.

Childhood's End, Sir Arthur C. Clarke, (I have no idea why this HAS NOT been made into a film yet.)
The "Gateway" series, Frederick Pohl (Again, why hasn't this been done? To me it is a more interesting and realistic series of books than Star Wars)
Rendevous with Rama, Ben Bova (a very well written book)
2061, Sir Arthur C. Clarke, (We've had films of 2001 and 2010 so it only makes sense
3001, Sir Arthur C. Clarke. (ditto the above)
Contact, Carl Sagan (I know it has already been done but I don't think the film did the book justice)

I'm actually a bit surprised that none of Harry Harrison's books have been made into movies.

Seems to me that they are breezy enough that they would translate well in to a condensed movie version.

"Riverworld" by Phillip Jose Farmer
But unfortunatly,it's already been made into a godawful television pilot.
Really bad,Very sad...It deserves the big screen trilogy treatment.
Then again it's waayy to massive a concept to ever translate to a few screenplays.

 But you just know Hollywood would change it enough to f**k the whole thing up. Why can't they just stick to the story?

The "Foundation"-series, "Childhood's End" and the "Rama"-series would be cool but
