No, my cpu is best capable to work with audio (I use DPC latency checker and also Win 7's Task Manager's Performance and resourse monitor). Even with a four note chord and Ircam scrub and hearing crackles I never get a fully used cpu. If possible, I always use vst instruments in standalone mode.
And I never had the problem you describe.

Which is why I asked for more detailed information so I could try and reproduce it.

If you get crackles with not fully used CPU (but it can't be fully used since Falcon doesn't utilize multicores) then you're probably getting core overload? Does Task Manager (Performance tab) verify this - one core pegged to max, others not so?

Sometimes crackles (or unpredictable artifacts) are produced by modulating delay lines, and in some cases panning controls. I've bumped into a lot of presets (not just in Falcon but in other synths too) where these issues were ignored or overlooked by the preset designer.

Thanks for your replies.

I can play the Falcon Factory soundbank, Simon's Falcon banks that I bought, I can use everything except Ircam Scrub and Ircam Stretch, except at rather minimal settings. CPU values in the Resources panel do not behave any different whilst crackling or not.

Coincidence or not: IStretch and IScrub are the problem osc UVI and Ircam are looking into as, when used at minimum settings (Win7, perhaps all Windows machines?) keep, so as to say, note on. The sound goes on indefinately. Closing Falcon does not help, closing the driver of the soundcard does not help, only restarting Windows helps. At that moment, the max cpu usage in resources peaks at 101%.

As said: they are trying to solve this (no news seems to be good news) and it may be linked to the problem.

Otoh: although I am not shure it is the culprit in this case, I guess a seven year old driver (yes, the most recent one indeed) that has 144ms for its four first settings, then jumps to 288ms for its next two etc, and that has a in latency of some 10,5 at 288 samples is not up to par anymore, and needs replacement. Unfortunately this also means another soundcard...

Does anybody know how to use the bypass buttons in the MIDI Player? I've set the MIDI channel to "Omni", triggering a MIDI sequence with multiple MIDI channels. I try to bypass the MIDI channels but I can still hear the signal coming through. What's up?

Version 1.1.0 is out now, an absolutely smashing update. I've been making sounds with this version for some weeks now during the Beta and it really brings some new things to the table, check out the new FM oscillator, the enhanced pluck synth, the new Thorus FX and more.
