WilliamK baby - It's OK - really. I don't hate you. I know you can't help it. I understand so don't sulk. Programming is hard I know. I did it myself as a second gig on and off for maybe 30 years. And yes, life can be rough. I know about that one too. It was kind of hard on me too when it whacked me with a near fatal medical condition and a financial disaster that cost me my house and studio and ... you know ... hard stuff like that. Things like that are why you find me on hear most days moaning and groaning about how tough I've had it you understand.

If you read my post you might have noticed that I mentioned that V5 didn't run all that well for me, like V6 and V7, on any of the maybe dozen or so machines I've used over the last few years but hey ... you know ... no big deal. I've probably let you down by not posting endless threads here till now griping about how dodgy your business model looks and how you never responded to my requests for support or replied to posts I made to your own forum. My fault and I do apologize.

Seriously dude. I'm not really pi$$ed at you. I blame myself. I thought there was a very high chance I'd get a shaky product and I did. You might have noticed in my original post that I was quite complimentary about both Wusik 8000 and WS V8 and only faulted them both for crashing consistently. Both look like they would be great synths if they were stable and I really hope that you can deliver functional updates that I can actually use before you get too submerged in new products.

Peace and mint sauce

+1 Good advice

WusikStation 8 has worked rock solid in FL Studio so far

What kind of DAW's are you using?

Post

Ahem ... Just to be clear about things ... I didn't 'test the full demo version with the god knows how many billion presets and 900 wonkobytes of samples etc' because I've already downloaded I don't know how many gigabytes of sample content from Wusik over the years along with extra sounds sets from various third party developers. Even though I already had all of it, probably multiple copies in fact, I downloaded all ... was it about 15 gig? ... of the latest group buy anyway. I'm just that kind of guy.

I've also been - I won't say 'using' but installing and tinkering with Wusik synths for a very long time and had a pretty good idea what I was getting. I've tinkered with Wusikstation in most of the popular DAWs on multiple platforms since way back when and it's never run terribly well.

My idea of a reliable synth is one that doesn't crash. Ever. The only synths on any of my computers that ever crash are Wusik synths. Wusik synths have always been kind of interesting but unreliable. They are also relatively inexpensive. I could have said 'cheap and nasty' there but I chose not to do that.

I didn't open a support ticket because I have done so in the past and received no response. Ditto with posing to the Wusik forum. I'm not really a support kind of guy. William is the only synth developer I've ever attempted to contact regarding a synth and he hasn't responded.

I don't post on this forum very often but I flick through it most days. If you attempt to tell me that people haven't been complaining about William not responding to requests for support since the dawn of time I'm going to attempt to sell you a bridge that I bought off my good friend the King of Nigeria.

Here's the thing. After years of biting my lip I've given William a bit of a gentle flogging with a pretty mild stick. I've thrown in a fair bit of carrot as well. "Nice synths" I said. "Good job". "They're a bit unstable. Fix them up and release an update." I attempted to do that in a light, jokey, mildly sarcastic fashion instead of throwing a hissy-fit.

Many posters on this forum have been far less gentle and not without justification. William has been given reams of good, sound advice over the years regarding his business model and the way he interacts with his customers. I won't repeat all that here but I would give William this advice: Listen.

Not picking sides here, and am cautiously dipping my toes in what could likely be shark infested waters, but here goes (don't worry. not a rant). I haven't been a KVR member as long as most of you, and honestly had never really heard much about Wusik Station until last year.I recently bought the newest version when it was on sale. So far I'm not experiencing any crashing. Using Windows 7, FL 11, 12 and Ableton Live 9. Haven't tested it in Cubase yet, but will tonight.

The only problem i'm experiencing with V8 is some Bruce Lee like karate kicks to my CPU. Experienced that during the demo as well, but was kind of hoping that would be resolved a little.

So, not to be redundant but when considering to buy any type of software it's usually more beneficial to test it out first. If possible.

Again, not completely familiar with William K's history on KVR. Suppose i could try searching more about it, but honestly those ventures usually keep me up all night, feeling empty, and finishing off all of my cigarettes.

It's not worth it, keep your cigarettes for sound design work.

I bought Wusik 7 to allow me to play/open my older projects which were created in Nuendo 32 bit, in my now 64 bit Nuendo environment.
Crashed like crazy, as someone else said, consistently. When William eventually got back to me his response was he didn't' own Cubase and therefore didn't test in that environment. WTF!!! Isn't Cubase like the first or second most popular DAW?

That was a clear sign for me to part company.

But you don't have to download all that sample content again to try the WS8 demo.

If you had problems with Wusik releases in the past, it seems quite logical to try the demo before investing more money.
