All the classics are listed but I didn't see"They Live" with Roddy Piper. Always enjoy that one.

Sorry if I missed it.

I'd have to agree about BladeRunner. Probably the best realization of a purely science-fiction universe ever put in screen... and one of my top 10 favorite films.

I just have one question. What the heck ever happened to the demi-god that was Ridley Scott? All of his stuff lately has been overhyped crap. From the awful history that was Gladiator (I'm so sick and tired of the "artistic merit" that takes place during action sequenced nowadays... strobe effect be damned) to Matchstick Men which was a subpar con movie. Come on Ridley, where's the man who did "Alien" and "BladeRunner", "Thelma and Louise" is an inspired piece of work compared to say the likes of "Hannibal" and "1492" (but who can argue against the score for that film).

Le sigh.

come on, gladiator was great..

about alien, I really like how each director gave its own view of it. I mean, especially alien 4, you can really recognize the director's style, while it's still alien.

Looking forward to this one...

Too lazy to read this whole thread, so I'll chip in with another vote for Blade Runner, and son of Blade Runner (The 5th Element), as well as a cheeky mention of Dark Star.

Oh, and Morons from Outer Space.

Hey MRT, i was going to mention "They Live!", one of my fave B-Movie John Carpenter films (alongside 'companion' piece Prince of Darkness mentioned in the horror thread).

Two cheap films but with great ideas. Also "They Live!" has the longest punch-up fight scene in cinema history i believe.
