I think that if Harrison released their plugins in VST format, they would get a lot more attention. I don't even give them a first look, let alone a second. And I don't think I am unique in that.Studio Saturn wrote:So I'm the only person who really liked the Drum Character plugin they released eh.

Yep, I have a rule for myself. If I'm paying for a plugin...it needs to work in all of my daws. Harrison plugs are great from what I hear, but I have plenty of others that will do the job.Ayorinde wrote:I think that if Harrison released their plugins in VST format, they would get a lot more attention. off topic: that was a wrong quote. Such things happen, no worries.clintmartin wrote:I haven't had a crash in Sonar in 2 years. It's been a rock.incubus wrote:Phil999 wrote:
Now, other than sonar, I'm not used to hosts crashing much.
What I'd use it for is further audio editing (from reason) and just mixing stems. Can't be "too" demanding, but I'd also like to be able to use the good vst plugs I have.
Mixbus 3.2 is also very stable. The only problem I have with it (still) is EZKeys. It will crash with the 64bit version in 64bit Mixbus. I bought it for mixing and mastering, but it's performance has improved to a point that I could track in it for sure.
Two of my favorite features are the monitor channel thing, and the new export analysis tool.
All daws should steal those ideas.

It's fine, and it's also fine that you (Phil) are enjoying sonar.
But I got off the money wagon with it well....about 2 years ago
Just got through with a session reason (miserable from my music perspective
) and everything works as it should so I really shouldn't be looking at anything else.....but I've had gas lately (well, a year w/o was nice)

That would be good if the vst plugins you wanted to use actually worked in Mixbus, sadly it is hit and miss . . . . . . . still . . . . . . . . . . maybe one day.TheoM wrote: I watched the video and it's interesting. Seems different to the usual transient designer plugins. Problem is Harrison make their plugins proprietary, expensive and well, ugly. I'd buy alternatives even if I used mixbuss.
Harrison's plugins plus mixbuss is one of the worlds most expensive native DAW bundle, and still misses 90% of the other plugins included with other DAWs. It just doesn't make sense to invest in the plugins. I say to fans, buy the daw and use vst plugins.

I know we are going in circles, but that's why there is no way I'll get it until there is a big sale, and even then, w/o a demo, probably not.
But you hear one person say x and the other say y. Really sonar and live with max (w/o max it was nearly flawless) are really the only two crash-happy hosts I've ever had so maybe I'd be lucky (I don't use cracks for one thing
