You can just use google to find: JX8P syx
For example http://www.synthzone.com/mschreier/

Thanks DuX!
Which patches can I download, then?? (Mac/VST)
Also, if there's a reason to keep these old patches up, could they be labeled as such? Otherwise people like me will probably keep downloading 'em...
It would be great if there was one place, with clearly labeled banks for all versions of the current release. Is there?
Thanks – pbass

I guess I don't understand, though: Why search for the name of an old hardware synth instead of for the plugin I need patches for?
And I've never seen 'syx' on a Mac, is that going to work?
And since the developer went to a lot of trouble to make Mac versions of his plugin, surely there's at least a 'factory' bank that goes with them??

Sorry about the confusion with patch banks at the moment.
As said before, the *.fxb banks you might find, e.g. on my web page are for the versions 1.x of the plugin.
I am currently working on the final tests for the version 2, which is a complete rewrite, and uses a different system for writing patches (*.PG8Xbank and *.PG8Xpreset). As I was still changing some things about the plugin, I advised users not to use those format for sharing patches.
The fact that people point you towards JX-8P sysex banks, is because the PG-8X is patch compatible with the JX-8P. Every JX-8P bank, you find somewhere can be used for the PG-8X. The PG-8X can read and write the JX-8P sysex format, and since this format is dictated by the hardware synth, it won't change. So, presets written in this format can always be read, even if I decided to change the internal structure of the pg8x files (which I have not).
I am currently testing the last bug fixes for issues which have been reported here and on my FB page, such as clicking in GATE mode and the DC offset, and also implemented the output of sysex for automation data, so that the plugin could even be used to control a hardware JX-8P.
Once all bugs are fixed, and I can finally officially release the new version, including a manual and proper web page, then I will also translate all *.fxb banks which are available on KVR or my MLVST page into the new format.
Cheers,
Martin

Martin,
Thanks for taking the time to explain it all so clearly to someone who's out of the loop!
All makes sense to me now.
If it's still a work in progress then of course you haven't focused on the presentation yet.
I look forward to the finished release. From clips I've seen/heard, it's an awesome instrument, and worth your apparent hard work – for which we'll all be grateful.
Meanwhile I'll check out those .syx patches.
Be well,
- pbass

Hello Martin ,I just noticed this, there seems to be a lot of aliasing in filter sweep controlled by the envelope.
I made two gifs to compare (i used Spire).

Are you opening an old project or is it in a new project?
Thanks,

I guess I know where the problem is, but don't know yet how to solve it efficiently. In order to keep the CPU time down, I only recalculate the filterfrequency at a reduced control rate. Probably that is not enough for sweeps.
I will look into it.
Thanks,
Martin
