Looks like the next installment in iZotope's mid-priced range is out:

From Audio Deluxe:
Add motion and energy to your music with Mobius Filter’s infinitely ascending or descending filter sweeps. Based on the auditory illusion of the Shepard Tone, the Mobius Filter plug-in creates perpetually rising or falling effects while maintaining full-frequency bandwidth. Add it to any source audio to instantly add motion to your tracks.

Mobius Filter creates the sensation of constant movement in your audio by applying the concept of the Shepard Tone to filters instead of pitches. Depending on your preferences, your audio can rise or fall at varying speeds for complex—but easy to achieve—movement.

The ever-ascending or descending results bring emotional impact to a track: as an intensifying build-up to a chorus or drop, or as a creative effect on guitars, vocals, drums, and more. Music producers can turn to Mobius Filter as an inspiring alternative to a standard flanger or phaser, as the antidote to a lackluster bridge or arrangement, or as the spark for psychotropic sonic textures.

- Draw your own expressive sweeps with the X/Y pad, making fluid adjustments to both Center Frequency and Resonance using one node control.
- Get a rapid, pulsing effect or slower motion by adjusting the Host Tempo Sync to anything from 1/8th notes to eight bars.
- Create an immersive stereo sound with the Stereo slider, which alternates left and right panned filters in an amount of your choosing.
- Create a static filter effect by pausing the filter motion with the Pause function. Or, pause it when it feels right and then automate it to create custom sweeps.

I wonder if his and the delay etc will ever find there way in to the existing products- This would have been nice in Iris, or even Alloy.....

PS- demo just sounds like a flanger/Phaser to me!

Indeed. Sounds like subtle comb filtrer or phaser.
No signature here!

Looks like an early Chris Randall reject GUI.

Yawn.

Wow a phaser for just $50!

Post

their recent releases smell like some patronising and half-hearted offering to appease the disgruntled section of their user base

here you go, here's some novelty fx-y stuff, now shut up and let us get back to the serious business of gouging people for rx updates.

It sounds nice, but it's not exactly an exciting release, is it?

I haven't used either but looking at the concept, doesn't Oli Larkin's Endless Series cover this ground and more?

Post

How many phasers do I have again?
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

How can this compete with Melda's powerful MFilter at the same price point?

This is exactly what I thought it was going to be, but the results don't sound anywhere near as good - just sounds like a really cheap phaser with high resonance !

Indeed, that's the real thing.

Post

Does it come with a patch manager, or need to use overlays? :P

I have had chance to have a better look at this; no, it really is what it seems to be, dull generic phaser type effect, very poor.

Perhaps they just have to sell it for 50 bucks for a while so that when they give it away free they can say it has a '$50 value' ;-)
